Chapter 1

I walked briskly down the halls in the museum, my boss had called me into her office, she's like my mother to me, well she's my aunt and when my mother died a few months she took me in as her own and gave me a part time job at the museum. My aunt couldn't have children so she spoiled me whenever I was young and she still does, she reminds me of my mother, auntie Mara is a tall woman at the height of 5'7 she towers over me like I'm the kitten and she's the human. She has long brown hair that she always wears in a bun or ponytail, and she's mostly seen a business suit or just plain t-shirt and some jeans when on weekends.

I never got to know my dad mother and auntie told me he had died the day after I was born trying to save my mother from dying in birth. Back then when they told me I was confused but now I understand why, my father had magical powers, wanna know how I figured this out? I have powers too, but Mara doesn't like me using them so I don't. I do go to school but I have no friends they all this I'm a strange girl after all my eyes are two different colours, blue and green I have red waist length hair and I'm like Casper for my skin colour. White as a ghost! My Auntie would say!

I opened her office door to see a man and my aunt talking "ah my niece has arrived" I smiled at them both as I walked in "Macy this is jack callings he is a explorer" I nodded and looked at the man "nice to meet you" I said shyly as he shook my hand "don't be shy love! I won't bite" he laughed, he a very old looking man around the age of 80 maybe. I smiled "ok why are you here?" I asked looking at him "I believe we have found a case of evidence that the lost kingdom had really existed" he said, I widen my eyes 'could it be so?' I shook my head "are you sure?" I asked still looking at the man "yes we have caught one of the creatures from there" he said smiling "oh really! Could we see sir?" Mara sounded so happy, but why wasn't I this could be the biggest discovery ever yet I'm feeling like this is wrong! Jack nodded and walked out of the office me and Mara followed him.

I stared at the little thing in the glassen box, it was I little girl that looked like an elf, "she was wondering around the woods when we found her... Isn't she lovely" I shook my head as the little elf girl stared at me with pleading eyes, I was never a person to be cruel to animals or any creature for that matter, "no it's cruelty" I turned to looked at the man, his eyes were wide "excuse me?" He said "you heard me it's cruel! What you did!" My anger surfaced as so did my powers. Purple sparkles surrounded me as my aunt step in and out her hand on my shoulder calming me down. My power was soon gone, and the man didn't see anything "we'll take the creature" I looked back at my aunt "WHAT?!" I yelled, I was scared that she would put this creatures on display, I saw a reassuring smile on her face and calmed down "ok?" Mara looked at jack "she'll cost you a lot" he smiled "how much?" Mara asked still keeping her stance "1,000 dollars" my mouth dropped "auntie-" "deal" Mara took out her check book and wrote something down then handed jack the check. Jack took the check and he and his men left without another word.

I looked back at the elf girl and opened the glass box, she ran out and hugged me "thank you princess" I was shocked 'I'm not a princess' I looked down at her after I hugged her "what's you name?" I asked her "Cleo" I nodded "would you mind showing me where the woods you were captured?" I asked her "not at all but that human can't come" she pointed to my aunt "don't worry Macy I'll be here doing my work" Mara smiled at me "ok" I hugged her and Cleo showed me the way to the forest without being seen by humans which was cool.

First chapter done! I'll keep this book going!
