Diana Prince slowly walked over to the area of ground where the Dark Knight lay, defeated, face down in the mud. It was raining heavily in the field where they had fought, and Diana's lip was bleeding where the Batman had previously punched it. Her thick, dark hair was blown about behind her by the soft and quiet wind, and she took a few more paces foreward.
Bruce made a struggled attempt to get up, but Diana wouldn't allow it. She put her boot onto his head, firmly fixing it onto the ground. Part of his cowl had broken off when she had hit her shield against the side of his head, and patches of blood were starting to seep through his cape.
"Give it up, Bruce." Diana hissed as he groaned in pain. She spat at the ground near his ear, finally removing her boot from his head. With great effort he rolled onto his back and looked up at her, his bloody teeth clenched. She glared back down at him, merciless. She threw her shield down to the side and pointed the tip of her sword down at his throat. "I won't let you start another war."
Bruce couldn't answer her, struggling to regain enough strength.
She sighed and removed her sword from his throat, then bent down and picked up her shield.
"This is your last warning," She spat, her jaw clenched, and she gave him another long glare before finally turning around and beginning to slowly walk away.
She had barely walked a few feet away from him when he gathered enough strength to stand. He had grabbed her lasso that she had unintentionally left lying covered by the mud. He smirked as he walked up behind her, and she froze, feeling his cold breaths on her neck. She turned her head slightly, silent, and her eyes widened once she realised what he was holding, but it was too late. Without hesitation, Bruce quickly wrapped the lasso tightly around her shoulders, using the little amount of strength he had left from the fight.
"No..." Diana whispered, making failed attempts to escape her own indestructible Lasso of Truth. Bruce laughed coldly, knowing that there was nothing she could do.
He took a step forewards and grabbed her jaw, forcing her to look into his eyes.
"Where are the files?!" He hissed between gritted teeth, glaring at her without blinking.
Silent tears rolled down Diana's cheeks as she was forced to answer. "K-Kal- El has them..." She choked out, defenceless.
"You lie." Bruce spat. "Clark Kent is dead."
She shook her head in his grip. "I can't lie.." She whispered. "He lives..."
Bruce stared at her for a minute, deep in his thoughts, before nodding and letting go of her jaw, taking a step back. He turned around, starting to slowly walk away.
"You can't just leave me here..." She called after him, her voice cracking. He ignored her, continuing to trudge away.
Diana continued to struggle against the tight grip of her lasso, until finally she was free with a last push. She cried out, drained of her powers, and fell onto her hands and knees. She had only resisted the Lasso of Truth once before, and it had left her mentally scarred. Her breaths were shallow yet heavy, and her limbs weakly trembled beneath her weight. She tilted her head upwards slightly, enough so that she could see the Dark Knight limping away in the distance, having left her alone, weak and defeated, in the middle of the field.
