Eve's POV

I didn't sleep at all last night. The embarrassment and fear of crashing into him like that kept me on the edge of my bed.

I was embarrassed falling onto my ass in front of the commander. Not to mention how terrifying he looked staring down at me on the floor, shaking in fear.

I was afraid because I could totally be killed off by him at any time. I was hoping he wasn't too angry that I slammed into him and didn't apologize.

"Stop," I groaned to myself as I threw my head into my hands. I begged my mind to stop thinking so I could get a decent amount of sleep.

This was the thing I hated about myself. I over think things and it literally keeps me from sleeping or doing anything. Why do I do this to myself?

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a hard knock on my door. I got up from the bed, grabbing my robe from off the floor as I wrapped it around me. It was four in the morning and someone was knocking on my door?

I opened the door, revealing a storm trooper with a blaster held hard against his chest. "Commander Ren demands to see you in his chambers, immediately."

I confusingly closed the door to my room, wrapping my arms around myself as I followed the marching trooper down the hall. Was I afraid? Yes. Was I really confused? Yes.

"May I ask why he wants to see me?" I said behind the trooper, receiving no reply. Maybe he didn't even know. I mean, no one questioned Kylo Ren, simply because he was scary as shit and very intimidating with his lightsaber and use of force.

I followed him for a few minutes, finally coming to the 'important head quarters'. No one, not even I was allowed to come back here unless permitted.

Once we approached the door to his chambers, the trooper scanned an I.D, the doors sliding right open. He motioned for me to step in, keeping his feet outside of the room. I guess not even troopers were allowed to be in his room. Maybe it was a personal preference?

With one foot after the other, I cautiously walked in. The harsh sound of the doors closing behind me made me flinch, only adding to the fear that surrounded me. I looked up to see his back facing me, his posture straight. He was looking out of the big windows that surrounded the room, staring into the galaxy he wished to one day attain.

All that could be heard was his heavy breathing through the mask that covered his face. It was steady, unlike my unstable one. I had no idea what to say since I was filled with horror. My anxiety was sky-rocketing, and I'd probably have a heart attack in about thirty seconds.

Millions of questions ran through my mind. Did I do anything wrong? Besides almost knocking him down and embarrassing myself. Maybe he was going to kill me? Hopefully, he'd show me some mercy and grant me a quick death.

"I'm not going to kill you." He said, his voice echoing off the walls in the room. It almost scared me, how quick his response was.

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding, nodding in response, even though he couldn't see it.

His body slowly turned around, my eyes going to his mask. With hands behind his back, he gradually strode over to me.

Before getting too close to me, he stopped, his mask dropping down. I assumed he was inspecting me, to see if I was a threat. I gulped, his mask rising to meet my eye level.

I stared into his mask, where his eyes would be, feeling a new desperation to see what his face looked like. It was a strange pull that I felt towards him, like he was some sort of magnetization.

I flinched when he raised his hand, my body cowering as my eyes closed shut.

I waited a few seconds for the impact to come, only for it to never. I opened my eyes, confused as his hand was rested by his side. Wasn't he going to hit me?

"I won't hurt you." He said with the most gentle tone that could possibly come from his robotic voice.

I wanted to ask if he meant what he said. I knew that he had a lot of temper tantrums and sometimes couldn't control his anger, resulting in many people's deaths. And I knew that I had to be careful around him, in actions and words.

I nodded again, peering into the sheet of black that covered his eyes.

He slowly walked away, taking a seat on the chair he had by the glass. "You must be confused as to why I asked you to report to my chambers." He stopped as a TIE fighter flew by, watching it until it disappeared.

I stayed where I was, giving him my full attention as he talked.

"To answer your questions, you are not in trouble. I summoned you here, simply because I have a job for you." He spoke in a tone that sounded like I have no choice. I mean, even if I didn't like it, I'd have to take it. There's no defying the Commander of the First Order.

His chair turned towards me, his mask staring into my soul.

"I want you to be my personal subordinate."
