Today is the day I was finally waiting for. It is the day where I will be going to college. My parents wanted to send me to a best college and hence they are sending me to New York. And since I was there only child they could afford my fees.
Today is the day I was waiting for but also the day that I have to leave my parents for 5 years. This is the longest time that I will be away from them.
Suddenly I heard footsteps coming near my room door guessing it's my Dad. And then someone knocked.
"Come in" I said hurriedly as I was packing some things which I left for the last moment.
"Alex are you ready" my dad said scanning my room.
"Yes Dad in a minute I need to pack some things" I said quickly.
"Hurry up dear" my dad said concernedly.
And came near me and hugged me tightly and he went out of my room and shut the door behind him. I knew my Dad was sad and so was I. He was not good at showing his expressions.
After packing up my luggage and my purse I was just about to leave my room my eyes caught my family photo that was hanged right in front of me on the wall where I was facing. My eyes started watering. Suddenly the handle of my room door twisted then I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes which were rolling down my cheeks before someone enters it's just that I do not want anyone to know that I am sad as it is they are sad that I am leaving if they knew that I was sad it would make them feel remorse.
My Mom entered my room. "I am ready Mom" I said in a happy voice.
"Well my dear I can see that but I have not come for that" my mom said in a very sweet tone.
"I have come to see how you are doing considering you will be leaving us" she said in a very sad tone taking a lock of her hair behind her left ear.
I could see her eyes watering then quickly I gave her a tight hug and wipped of her tears with my thumb and said her "Mom I am absolutely fine. And don't worry Mom I will come to visit you and Dad every year". I assure her that she would see me again. My Mom then smiles at me I smile to her back and kissed her forehead.
"Come down dear your dad is waiting for you we have to reach the airport in an hour". I nodded at her then grabbed all my stuffs and hurried down.
I went down in my living room then opened the main door and saw my Dad's car waiting for me. Then suddenly I could feel Jimmy licking my feet. Jimmy is my Dog and since I did not have any siblings to keep me in company Jimmy used to keep me in company so that I don't feel lonely. We (Jimmy and I) used to give each other company which now I felt it drifting away. I used to share all my feelings with him he would understand them too. Leaving away my thoughts I caught him with my arms and ran my hands to his fluffy skin. He then licked my cheek. I could see his eyes watering then I said in a whispered tone to him "Good Bye will see you soon". After saying these words I smiled and put him down. My Mom had some impending work in the kitchen. Till then my dad came and took my luggage and put it inside the trunk of his car. Then he opened the drivers door and sat inside the car.
