Dinah's Pov

Dinah heard her alarm go off,so she got up and did her usual morning routine to get ready for school. she texted  her best friend Lauren to make sure that she was still coming to get her.after she got a text from her best friend. Dinah decided that she would get dressed early ,usually she'd take her time,But this Monday something was different,she got a new neighbor so she decided that she would go and say hi before Lauren came to get her.After she got dressed she quickly ran downstairs,grabbed a piece of toast and a juice out the fridge. As she started to get closer to the house,Dinah begun to get anxious and nervous. She loved making new friends but she was shy,she knocked on the door slightly and a short beautiful black girl opened the door.

D: hi I'm your next door neighbor and I just came over to introduce myself
N:Hi,I'm Normani
D:Hi,Normani I'm Dinah Jane
N:it's nice to meet you Dinah Jane
D:*gets a text from lolo*
D:I have to go I don't want to be late for school,but hey maybe we can hang out afterwards.
N:hey could I possibly ride to school with you.
D:we go to the same school? and I'll have to ask my best friend
N:yeah,you go to Woodland High right
D:yes and Lo said sure
N:I'll be right out

Dinah and Normani walk to Lauren's car and get in.Dinah looks through review mirror and stares at the beautiful brown-skinned girl in the back seat but quickly regains her focus when her best friend Lauren nudged her. "Hey dj you ok,you kinda zoned out for a bit,"Lauren said. Dinah o-oh u-uhm yeah I'm fine Lo I was just thinking about something. Lauren smirks as she text Dinah.

Dj:I just meet her a couple of minutes ago

Lauren pulls up to the school and parks her car and starts talking to Normani. Hey Normani I'll show you around and take you to get your schedule if you ant me to,Dinah looks up from her phone and says no Lo I can do it.Normani thinks to herself and says Dj can do it but thanks anyway Lauren. "Alright suit yourself love birds,"says Lauren as she winks at Dinah and walk off. Leaving Dinah and Normani alone,Dinah finally gets the courage to speak and says we should go to counselors office first to pick up your schedule and then I'll show you around.Normani smiles at the tall blonde and says lead the way Dj. As the girls walk inside the school and head to the counselors office a boy stops Normani and says hi cutie want to go out on a date sometime,but before she could get a word out Dinah intervenes and says Masi get your hands off of her she doesn't want to go out with you I'm sure your not her type.Normani just laughs and continues walking with Dinah.She finally gets the courage to ask Mani we're friends right,Mani says yeah Dj why wouldn't we be.
