Ever felt that immense love for someone that swells your heart to a point where it feels like it has reached the maximum capacity of emotions? Like the kind of feeling where you'd happily give your last meal to her so that you'd starve instead of her. The kind of feeling where you'd shelter her from that bone-chilling cold by sharing with her all your sweaters, just to keep her warm and safe. Even if the weather were to drop to a minus Celsius, it doesn't matter, because you are willing to take any bullet for her, just so she can be safe, happy and breathing, even if that meant sacrificing your very last breath for the woman who never loved you half as much as the depth of your love for her, and only her.

She stood there in the middle of the stormy night. Rain cascading throughout the city and slowly wreaking havocs on the ground, the sky a scary darkness that looked something out of a horror movie and houses with the light shut off as people succumbed to the arms of sleep, exhaustion overpowering their consciousness. And so, she stood there, raven hair now damp and clinging to her moist skin. Brown eyes red and drying with tears, her eyes a symbol of the dejection that her soul felt. Every step that she took, she felt the weight on her shoulders gradually burdening up. The city lights continued to be flickered off one after the other as it was slowly consumed by darkness, the only source of illumination being projected from the dimly lit lampposts. Her eyes were adjusting to the growing darkness, and the pouring rain made it a challenge for her to walk the steps ahead. Stumbling to the left and swaying to the right, she did, as her heels clicked against the rocky pavement.

It would have been for the best if she had the patience in her to wait for the traffic light to be green and ready, but the reckless part of her dominated her rational side as she decided to continue walking to the destination, wherever it is, that her feet takes her to. the traffic sound, agitated horns from different cars and vehicles were roaring in the air, but her ears shut it off as she continued to stumble her steps through the busy road. A smirk proudly graced her dried lips as euphoria filled her accelerating heartbeat. Her wish for death was answered when a speeding car collided against her body, spinning out of control while she was knocked cold on the ground. Tensed silence now joined alliance with the rain-scented air as busy vehicles stopped by to scrutinize what the commotion was about. It was a devastating sight. a car damaged beyond recognition and a young woman bleeding profusely with fresh wounds covering her once smooth skin. The end was gratuitous and it didn't have to be this way.

Meanwhile, he paced around the house frantically.
