When my youngest brother, JP, was little...around 2 or so... he had some pretty strange phobias. One of them being cereal. He was terrified of the stuff! If it was in a box and labeled 'cereal' he would have NOTHING to do with it!
So, being the wonderful siblings we were, any chance JC and I had to scare JP were used accordingly. I can't even begin to count the number of times one of us was holding a box of cereal while chasing JP and screaming 'The Cereal Monster is going to get you! You'd better run for your life!' Poor JP would take off running through the house like a madman, terrified of this innocent box of cereal.
This torture went on for years, up into his early teens, when for some reason JC and I just up and stopped teasing JP about it. I'm not sure why we stopped, perhaps we finally grew out of it or it just wasn't fun any longer to tease the poor guy. Who knows?
But, as of the last time I saw JP, which was quite a few years ago, he still refused to eat cereal, as an adult!
