I sat quietly watching the screen. Sitting around me happened to be Drew, Chad, Allen, Joe and Colby. Eric is in the process of making his return, and I'd be joining him later tonight, making my return as well.
Bill makes his way onto the stage to a big pop. The screams of all the fans becomes easy to hear from in the heart of the arena in catering. Bill raises the microphone to talk, but shakes his head. Waving his hand for Eric to come out. Making the cheers significantly louder as Eric runs out. Eric and Bill do their typical introduction. They step into the ring, the crowd starts chanting;"How you doin'?"
Eric dances around for a bit, basking in the warm welcome back.
"As most of you guys are aware, I forgot to pay my electric bill. They cut my lights out - how you doin'? The doctors diagnosed me with a concussion." The guys around me carry on their conversations. The crowd boos as he says that. Eric smirks slightly.
"That's what I like to call a hard sneeze," and he dabs.
"Bless you." Bill says after a moment.
"Your damn right I'm blessed! I've got the gift of gab and the gift of jab. If I had a dime for every time I got knocked down and didn't get back up, I would have zero dimes! As for those couple of haters Bub and Devon Dud, they have been out of line... and apparently not on the guest list. Do us a favor and don't do us any favors. At the end of the day, The Dudleys are full of baloney. That boar's head on Bubba's shoulder is good for one thing because Big Cass isn't a delicatessen - it's a target." Eric exclaims getting fired up.
"Me putting my size 16 boot on Bubba's head is like throwing a basketball into a swimming pool because I'm not gonna miss." Bill claims, not an ounce of playfulness in his voice. Eric starts getting the crowd going wild, Bill quietly tells Eric to tone it down so they can finish their promo.
"We'll prove again why there's only one word to describe The Dudley Boyz, and I'm gonna spell it out for ya: S-A-W-F-T!"
The Dudley Boyz make their entrance. Mark will face Bill, after the commercials.
.
There wasn't any complications during the match, the closest to it was a spot where Mark and Devon attempted to gang up on Eric, which Bill happily stopped. Since their match ended less than a few minutes ago, it'd be my turn to go out there and make my return. A segment with Ashley, Ash, and Ric.
Ashley smiles confidently at me as she walks out. Ash on one arm, and her father on the other. The trio walk out into the arena. They step into the ring, Ashley grabs a microphone. Belting out a loud "WOO!"
Ric takes the microphone, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.
"Before you start tonight, I just want to convey to you as a father how proud I am of you for everything you've accomplished since you won the WWE Women's Championship at WrestleMania. As a child, every time you mom and I turned around, you had your hand in the candy jar. Even when we hid it, you found it. Everything you've touched in your life, you've made happen. You're that fabulous. Last night with your back against the wall, you once again prevailed. You even got someone like your Uncle Arn in Dana Brooke. Without Charlotte Flair, there is no Dana Brooke. I'm so proud of you." He gushes, Ashley smiles brightly at him.
"I want to thank one person, and that's obviously myself. I'm also proud of Dana Brooke. She made the right decision because she wants to be the best." Ashley turns to Ash, who then starts speaking. I glance around in gorilla, Eric kisses me softly on my cheek. I smile at him.
"Show then what we can do."
Ashley snaps her head towards her Hall of Fame Father. He smiles warmly at her.
"Want to know what I remember growing up? I remember Thanksgivings without you, Christmases without you, Birthdays without you!" The crowd starts "WHAT"ing her.
"I dare you to what me one more time." She threatens. They "what" her once more, but she continues.
"I remember Mom saying that you would always be there, but you weren't. I had to watch you on TV! I understand why you weren't there. Mom had to rub my hair because I was crying. But I get it now. I'm the WWE Women's Champion." She pauses for a moment, collecting her thoughts.
"I've never been more powerful, I've never been more confident. Now I understand. You knew what it was like to be the man. Well now, I'm the woman! That's why I have the courage to say this to you now."
"Get out of my ring!" She shouts, pointing at the backstage area. Ric's face morphs into confused and slightly hurt. Trying to decipher if this is a bad joke she's playing on him.
"What? Are you hard of hearing, old man? I figured that you'd stand there looking dumbfounded. Everyone from your generation is the same. You never want to leave the spotlight. I was compassionate enough to let you bask in my success. Does anyone know what it's like to walk into a room and be called Ric Flair's daughter? No, you're just Charlotte's dad. What? Are you going to cry? Huh? My spotlight shines brighter than yours ever did." Venom practically dripping from her lips as she speaks to Ric. He begins to cry. As Ashley speaks, she looks like she's about to cry.
I feel goosebumps raise on my arms, stunned by her performance.
"You've abandoned me for the past 30 years. To them, you're immortal, but to me? Dead. Now you can watch me on TV like I had to do for you. Get out of the ring." Ric hesitantly gets out of the ring, looking sad as he does so.
"Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, hey hey hey, Goodbye!" She starts singing. Ric stands looking defeated at the top of the ramp, then my music hits. I grab a microphone, peeling my frame away from my husbands.
"I'm pretty sadistic and I think that just broke my heart." I say as I pass Ric. I step in the ring.
"Who invited you out here?" Ashley demands to know.
"Actually I don't need an invitation. Part of me is actually glad that you kicked Ric to the curb. I mean, you won the Divas title all on your own." I start with a smirk, Ashley cuts me off.
"See. Exactly why we knew you'd be the best person in the locker room to understand this." Ashley praises as Ash simply glares.
"Yeah. Just because I stated that one fact didn't mean I agreed with what you did to Ric. Then again. It's not my family." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
"You have no right to talk to the Women's Champion like that!" Ash shouts. I roll my eyes ignoring her.
"She's right! I'm your WOMAN'S CHAMPION!" Ashley shouts.
"Actually, I didn't come out here to waste everyone's time like you. I came with a purpose. To tell you that you've got a match. Next. Against me." I say.
"Easy." She says with a smile.
"For the woman's title." I say looking at the title. A ref runs to the ring and Ash whispers something to Ashley. They whisper back and forth for a few moments. Then the referee rushes Ash out of the ring in order to ring the bell.
.
"I did it!" I cry out, unable to wrap my head around winning the Raw Women's title against someone with the magnitude of Ashley. I raise my newly won title in the air, wiping my eyes.
