---------------------------
I set my alarm at 6:00 am eventhough my classes starts at 10:00 am because I'm too excited to go to school. I got up and took a bath quickly then wore navy blue polo shirt and black shorts. I went downstairs and rush to the kitchen.
"Good Morning!" I told the maids with a dashing smile.
"And to you Miss Alice." One of the maids replied.
"Oh please, just call me Alice." I said.
"Yes, Miss Alice."
I rolled my eyes and opened the fridge to grab some fresh milk, bowl and cereals. Then rushed to the dinning table to eat and saw Matthew already sitting there.
"Oh! hi Matt." I said carefully, thinking that it's okay for him to make him a nickname. He stood up and looking angry, his hands turned into fist and punched the table.
"Don't call me that!" Then went away swiftly.
"Did I do something wrong." I asked the younger maid as she approached.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that Miss." The young maid said as she handed me a glass of water.
"He hates it when you call him Matt." The older maid said.
"Why is that?" I asked and I know I am so annoying right now.
"It's a long story..." the maid said, tired to explain anymore.
"How long is it?" I asked again.
The older maid took a deep breath. "Okay fine, 'Matt' is what his mother call him. But one day his mom died of brain cancer, but before that Andrew and Matthew had gone through rough times with her. Because the cancer infected Ma'am Grace's behavior, she was going crazy, has serious delusions and tried to kill herself once. The cancer reached stage 4 and that's the time she died. Young master was so affected that sir Andrew had to let him go to London for 4 years to get a very special theraphy for his trauma. Then he returned but everything's changed, he was not the same person we know; he became nonchalant in his surroundings, he doesn't talk that much, he became melancholic and he always stays in his room. Sir Andrew reconstructed the house to make all the rooms on the left wing his. but he still is sad. We never saw him smile again until now."
But then I remembered that I saw him smile yesterday. "I think I saw him smiled yesterday."
"Huh, lucky you. It will never happen again." The young maid said.
I think I can do it. If can make him smile yesterday, I can make him smile everyday.
...
I found a letter that was left by mom:
Alice,
I'm sorry I didn't inform you but Andrew and I wont be coming home early today because of you know, wedding plans, and I hope you and Matthew would have a great day at school, especially you.
Love,
Mom.I put down the letter to where it is placed and sat on the couch for awhile and felt bad for Matthew. Why did I call him that in the first place? I feel guilty for what I have done. So I got up and decided to go to Matthew's room to apologize. Do I really have to do it? I was quite hesitant but when I was about to knock, the door opened and saw Matthew already going out. I blocked him because I know he'll just avoid me.
