The alarm rang through the small room in which Simon was sleeping peacefully. The abrupt sound woke him from his peaceful slumber.
He slowly opens his eyes, allowing his eyes to adjust to the small bit of light that leaked through the closed curtains.
He swings his long legs off the side of the bed, his feet touching the soft carpet which covered his floor.
He loved having a carpeted floor. Never having to worry about it being cold and shocking his body awake. He also enjoyed the sensation he got from the carpet on his sensitive feet.
The tall boy slowly stood up and stretched upwards before making his way to the window, pulling back the cream coloured curtains and looking down at the street in front of his house. It wasn't very busy, then again he did live on a side road so it wouldn't be too busy.
His mother's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Simon it's time to wake up! You have camp today." Her voice echoed through the small house.
Simon groaned. He wished that this had just been a joke, but no, he was still having to go.
Simon had planned spending his summer in his room playing video games, avoiding all human contact, but his mother thought this was unhealthy so she's forcing him to camp, the last place he'd ever want to be.
Simon loved his mother so he reluctantly complied as he did not want to see her upset. He would give it his best effort to have at least some fun, so her money wasn't wasted.
He looked over at the small suitcase in the corner, packed up with all his clothes aside from what he was wearing, and what he was gonna wear.
He changed into the set outfit, some black joggers with a plan grey t-shirt and a black hoodie. He grabbed his phone, headphones and portable charger, slipping the phone and headphones into his pocket and the charger into his suitcase.
He pulled the semi heavy case downstairs and set it by the door. His body was surrounded by the aroma of home made waffles, his favourite.
He walks into the kitchen seeing his mother set a plate of fresh waffles on the table, giving me a warm smile.
"Good morning sweetheart. I made your favourite." She smiled, it was her way of saying 'I'm sorry for making you go to camp but it's for your own good.'
He smiled and sit at the table. "Thanks mum." He said softly.
He quickly ate the breakfast that was placed in front of him, enjoying it happily.
Once finished he hopped out of the kitchen, his mom waiting for him by the front door.
"Simon, are you ready to go?" She asked, searching her keys from her purse.
"Yeah. I guess so." He said, watching his mum search for her keys.
Once found she headed to the car, her son following close behind with his stuff.
They both get into the car and she heads off to the camp sight.
Simon pulled out his phone and slipped on the headphone, putting on his playlist.
This playlist always kept him positive and helped keep his stress down.
He watched the town start to fade and the trees start to appear. His thoughts were trying to be as positive as they could be about this stupid camp.
It took about an hour but they got there safely.
With a kiss on the cheek and a quick "I love you", his mom had got him out of the car with his stuff before leaving.
He let out a heavy sigh before going and finding registration.
