What about the summer when we sat together in the grass
laughing at people walking across, feeling safe and loved...
What about that night when we spoke hours together on the phone
wishing this was a forever, inching for each other's touch...
What about that day we spent in each other's arm
cold confronted by warmth, soft kisses down my face....
What about that minute we took to hear feel each other's heart pound,
my tiny hand wrapped beneath your palm against your heartbeat...
Why did it all have to end? For it all to become a nothing in a second?
From where did we get the grit to let go, the dare to forget?
Why did we move on from every single dream of ours?
Why my beloved, tell me... Why?
Don't you think 'Why' is the hardest question to answer to?
