the sky is as dark as the ocean, but endlessly deep.
the cream curtains reflect patterns on her bare skin through the light of the shy moon.

her back arches from the the mattress;
legs tighten around my waist as our bodies become one.

her name leaves my parted lips,
she responds maladroitly--dry,
a sound without a thought of meaning.

are foreheads press against one another,
i've never felt this close to another soul.

i search for her eyes under the sheet of darkness around us,
but her lids are wrinkled--glued together shut.

i push further,
trying to pry myself through;
but alas i only find myself being pushed away by the current.

i desire to dive deep within her,
to know every secret that her little corpse holds.

i whisper nothing but pretty little things against her sweet skull,
she only sighs breathing heavily.

the breath that leaves her silken lips is something i long to grasp,

but in a mattress with only room for two,

she is a foreign language,
that i simply cannot understand.
