"Touch me again, and I'll make sure you don't feel your hand or your face for weeks."

The words left my mouth in a cruel growl, my nails digging into the soft skin on the hand of the boy who slapped my ass.

Why did he slap my ass you ask? Beats me. Probably a stupid bet. He knew what he was getting into.

"F-fine I won't do it again," he said quietly, wincing as I twisted his wrist.

"I'm sorry, but could you speak a little louder? I don't believe I heard you," I spat, my eyes burning as they started at his terrified ones.

"I said fine! I'll leave you alone! Just let go," he shrieked, his friends simply watching. Heh. What friends they actually were.

"Good," I muttered simply, shoving him by his wrist into the cool lockers behind him before letting go of his grubby, sweaty hands and walking away. I blew a piece of bleached blonde hair out of my eyes, keeping my chin up as I walked past all the clusters of kids in the hall.

Of course I heard their whispers. Of course I noticed how they edged away from me as I walked past. Did I give a shit? I'm sure you can guess.

As I walked into my 7th Period biology room, I kept a blank face and simply made my way to my welcoming seat in the back. I used to have someone sit with me, but that didn't last long. Sucker was scared shitless the second week.

I picked at the aging polish on my nails as I waited for class to begin, not even looking up as people entered though I could feel their eyes on me. I didn't have a care in the world as I propped my feet up on the seat beside me, my black combat boots making a small squeak as they met the blue school chair.

As I sat, not paying a bit of attention, something broke into my mind as the teacher spoke. What did he just say? New seating arrangements? You've got to be shitting me. I yanked my feet of the chair as everyone got up, getting up myself and leaning against the wall by the window.

I didn't pay much attention as he called names, yet perked up when he said mine. He tapped the desk where I'd sit at, and I smirked once I say the pretty faced boy who got to be my partner. Liam Grayson.

I slowly walked over to the rest and sat down, popping my knuckles before resting my forearms at the table. I cocked my head and lifted my eyes until the met the face of the blondie beside me, who quickly gave me a look over.

"Oh great. I got the recluse," he mumbled, which caused me to raise an eyebrow.

"Oh great. I got the Barbie doll with more gel on his head than hair," I sneered in response, before accidentally knocking his books of the table with my elbow and turning to look to the front of the room.

Well, wouldn't this be a lovely semester.

As everyone got settled into their seats, some girls giggling since they were next to their 'besties' and the guys either sizing up the chick beside them or snorting as the chatted with their 'bros'. My fantastic partner and I seemed to be the only ones not mingling. Which I had no problem with.

"Alright, alright settle down class. Now that you've been given your new seating partners, you've also been given your project partners. That's right, you and your buddy sitting next to you will have to complete this semesters main project. Nothing too complicated. And there will be no switching, so you better learn to like one another unless you both are satisfied with being given an F."

Well, I was perfectly fine with an F.

"Don't get any ideas," Liam mumbled against my ear, his lips barely touching my skin. I immediantly brought my elbow up to meet his chest, which caused him to sputter and lean back. "What the hell was that for?"

"You got to close to me. It's called personal space, bud. Respect it," I said, glaring at him. "Because if you get close to me again, I'll do much worse than elbow you."

"Fine fine. Anyways, what I meant was you can't bail on this project. There's no way I'm getting an F."

"And there's no way I'm working with a snob like you."

"Hey! You barely know me. I'm not that bad," he said, actually looking offended.

I snorted, rolling my eyes. "That's what they all say, sweetheart. And you're just as bad as the rest."

"Well, whether you like it or not, we're finishing this project. Or else I'm dead."

"Does it look like I care?"

"No. But come on, it's just a project. It's not like we have to be best friends. It's just biology, baby."

"Call me baby again and I'll sabotage this whole project," I glared at him, starting to stand up.

"Stop! I won't call you baby again, sheesh. Just, please at least try to get along with me. I'm not that hard to like," he said, clearly trying his best to avoid any flirtatious comments. Good. He's smart.

"Okay. I'll try. Doesn't mean I will," I said with a half-hearted smile, pinching his cheek a little too hard as the bell rang. I stood up and walked out of the classroom without a second glance, leaving the stupid biology partner out of my mind as I made my way to my last class.

Maybe this project wouldn't be the worst thing ever. But let's be honest, it probably will. I have Barbie-Boy as a partner. Barbies and Zombies don't mix. Actually, nothing mixes with Zombies.

That's why I'm all alone.

Squee!!! First chapter is done. I hope you guys enjoyed it, I really did try. As you can see, Zara is a bit of a unique girl. But hopefully she'll lighten up soon. Hopefully. And what do you guys think of Liam? I'll explain a bit more about him in the next chapter. Anyway, thanks for reading!
