Emmi was sick at home for the 3rd day in the row. She had just barley enough energy to get a drink of water. Even than she would crash right after. She had a cough. A bad cough that made her spit up some gray looking spit. Emmi had a hard time breathing and was throwing up because of her nausea.

"Mom *cough* I * cough cough* can't breath *cough*" Emmi tried to say. Colette looks down at Emmi. She was a getting more and more worried by the second. Just three weeks ago she had pneumonia. At the doctors she had checked and saw Emmi had lost five punds. But how? Colette knew, or might have knew. But the idea terrified her to shreds.

Emmi leaned over to throw up again, only to go into a coughing fit. Her breathing became harder. Colette rushed to her side, gently patting her back. Emmi finally stopped and rolled over to get some sleep.

Colette stood to dump the bucket once again when something made her drop the bucket.

Blood.

A lot of it.

Piled in the throw up and spit.

Her hands trembled as she picked up the bucket and slowly walked to Shay's office.

"Shay?" She peeked In and slowly opened the door, trembling. Her hands shaking like an earthquake. Shay sensed her worries as she walked in. He quickly sat up from his chair and pushed his laptop to the side. He closed the door. Colette cried into his shoudler. Shaking violently, Colette started crying harder. Shay tried to calm her down.

"Colette, what is it-"He looked in the blue bucket stopped I'm his tracks. Blood. Thick dark red blood. Her finally realized why his wife was crying. It wasn't just a cold his youngest daughter had. It was something much bigger.

"We need to get her to-" Shay began.

"Shay" Colette budged, trying to speak through her tears.

"Come on honey we-"

"Shay"

"I'll get Emmi-"

"Shay Butler" Colette said softly and more terrified. Shay stopped and looked his wife in the eyes. She obviously knew something he didn't.

"What's wrong with her?" He asked quietly, knowing she knew and it was bad.

"Emmi isn't just sick my love." Colette side before bursting into tears.

"Colette what is it?" Shay said even more terrified of what she would say next.

"Emmi, she, she." Colette took a deep, shaky breath.

"Shay, our daughter has Lung Cancer."
