I know its stereotypical for people to write about supernatural beings, but this is gonna be different from those. No, I'm not the supernatural being in this story. I'm just a girl. My name is Jace and I fell in love with a supernatural creature. Ugh, that's so cliché to say, but it's true. I guess I should start from the beginning and quit rambling on. It started about a year ago.
I woke up, as usual, at five o clock to get ready for school. I hurried into the bathroom to guarantee I got enough time to get ready. I let my shoulder length chestnut brown hair down from the small bun I had holding it up through the night. I brushed out any knots, section by section de-curling the thick strands. Once it was to my liking, I took a quick shower. I got out and dried off, changing into my uniform. I brushed out my hair once again, pushing my bangs down, across my forehead. Straightening my tie, I left the bathroom and made my way downstairs to make breakfast for my siblings and me. I prepared bacon and eggs, two plates with toast and one without. My younger sister was quite picky. Instead, she got a yogurt. I placed the plates on the counter, in front of the bar stools.
It was nearly six o clock at this point, so I quickly woke up my brother and sister. Mica was easy to wake up since he was the youngest and was excited for school, while Ashlynn was another story. Mica was only seven at the time so I helped him with what he needed, while Ashlynn stayed lying in bed. Once he was ready I sent him downstairs to eat, while I fought with Ash.
"Come on, Ash! Get it moving," I quietly yelled, pulling on her comforter. She pulled the pillow over her face and screamed a muffled, no. "You are in sixth grade, man up!"
"Not everyone is a cheerful as you every morning, Jace," she snapped back, sitting up. She had a massive case of bed head.
"Still gotta go to school, see you in a few," I spoke handing her a hairbrush and walking out.Mica had finished a majority of his plate when I get downstairs. I stood on the other side of the counter, chewing on a piece of toast, and started a conversation with the little boy.
"So how'd ya sleep?" He looked up from the plate and smiled.
"I sleeped good," He spoke, grammar errors flooded his sentence.
"It would be I slept good, Mica. So what did you dream about," I corrected him, taking a piece of burned bacon into my mouth.
"It was soo cool, Superman was there and I got to fly around the city with him." Mica finished his statement and pushed his empty plate to me just as Ashlynn entered the room. She was still in her pajama bottoms but had changed the shirt to her uniform, her auburn hair tied back into a loose ponytail her baby hair dangling in her face. She takes a seat next to Mica, ruffling around his little afro. "What did you dream about ash-lane" he had a hard time with pronunciation sometimes.
"I dreamt I didn't have to go to school, it's literal hell." She replied after taking a sip of her milk. I placed Mica's plate in the sink with his cup and warned Ash to hurry up. I walked to the downstairs bathroom to do my makeup. After I filled in my thick eyebrows I stared at my reflection. I never really like that I had heterochromia, but I couldn't fix it. I had 20/20 vision so it wasn't like I could wear contacts to make my eyes either both jade green or electric blue. I brushed the thoughts off and continued applying the makeup. We left the house shortly after that. We were running late, so I couldn't walk with Mica to the neighbor's house. Once he had made it across the street I began to yell at Ashlynn.
"Why did you feel the need to take 5 minutes changing into your skirt today?" I was speed walking to the bus stop, determined to not miss my bus.
"Because I don't wanna go." She began to slouch more as she walked. I grabbed her wrist with a sigh and began to pull her to the stop. We made it just in time, as the bus pulled up while Ashlynn began to sit on the bench. Taking our usual seat, Ashlynn began to nod off while I listened to some music, watching passengers get on the bus and a few leave. One girl with dark purple hair caught my eye as she was in the same uniform to me, but she hid her face as she walked past me. I had never seen her before, maybe she had transferred schools recently or just moved, I shrugged startling Ashlynn, who was asleep on my arm this whole time.
