My name is Abigail or Abby for short. I've lived in an orphanage since I was a baby and I'm now fifteen years old. I have black hair down to the middle of my back, I'm pale like a vampire, and I love wearing band t-shirts.
I have two different eye colors; my left eye is green and my right eye is blue. I guess that's why no one wants to adopt me because they think I'm a freak.
I was listening to a Motionless in White song when I heard a knock on my door. I got up, made sure my fringe was covering my left eye, and then I went towards the door. I opened it and the caregiver Ms. Stuart was standing there with a file folder in her hand.
"There's someone wanting to meet you." She tells me.
I nod my head and then I went over to my I-pod and paused the music. I followed Ms. Stuart downstairs and into the living room where a familiar looking man was standing.
"Abby this is Devin Sola." Ms. Stuart says.
"H...hi." I stutter.
"Hey there. Can we go for a walk?" Devin asks.
I look up at Ms. Stuart for permission.
She nods her head. "Bring her back before noon." She says.
Devin motions for me to follow so I do. We walk outside the orphanage and we start walking.
"Do you know who I am?" Devin asks.
"Yeah, you're nickname is Ghost and you're the bassist for Motionless in White." I reply.
We found a park along the way so went over. Devin and I walked over to a picnic table and sat down. Just as I had sat down on the seat, the wind picks up and my fringe moves away from my face.
I hear a gasp and I realize that it was Devin who made the noise. I grab my fringe and pull it back in front of my left eye.
"That is so cool!" Devin yells out.
I look away from him. "No it's not. I'm a freak." I say.
"Hey don't say that. You are a beautiful girl." He says.
I blush a little. I couldn't believe that THE Devin Sola just called me beautiful.
"So Devin..." I began to say.
"Please, call me Ghost." He interrupts.
"Okay...Ghost, why me? You could've chosen to talk to any of the other girls." I ask.
"I saw your profile on the internet...and I don't know, I guess I saw something in you that I liked." He replies.
"That's a little creepy." I say.
We both laugh.
"Now that I think about it, yeah it does sound creepy. Anyways, did you want to get something to eat before heading back?" Ghost asks.
I nod my head so we get up off of the seats and we began walking to McDonalds. We got inside the restaurant and I patted my pockets.
"I don't have any money on me." I say.
"It's alright Abby, I'll pay for it." He says.
I felt guilty about letting Ghost pay for my food.
"Are you sure? I can pay you back." I tell him.
"It's no big deal." He says.
We ordered our food and then we sat down at the table. After we ate, we made our way back to the orphanage. Ghost opened the door and we walked inside.
"So is this going to be the last time we see each other?" I ask.
Just as Ghost was about to answer, Ms. Stuart came over.
"So? How did it go?" She asks.
"It went pretty well I think." Ghost says.
"Good, I'm glad to hear that. Well, Mr. Sola shall we talk in private?" Ms. Stuart asks.
"Yeah, alright. It was fun hanging out with you Abby." Ghost says.
I went upstairs to my room and closed the door. I went to my I-pod and turned it on. Motionless in White's song Wasp began playing through the speakers. I collapsed on the bed and buried my head in the pillow.
I felt that it was going to be the last time I saw Ghost.
