I tap my foot against the hard tile floor. I check my watch once more. I look around the room.

Every single guy in here is a total jerk. Why can't there just be one guy who listens to me and is genuinly nice? And, if he just happened to like the same things as I did, ya know that'd be cool. That is all I ask. I don't even need to date him. I just need someone of the oppisite gender that I actually would like to have a conversation with.

You think that I would find one guy that I could just talk to. Not a guy that every girl wants. Not a guy that smokes or does drugs. Not a guy that tries too hard to be popular or "cool." Just a guy. A guy that listens to music that actually has a meaning. A guy that cares what you say. A guy that cuddles up with you whilst you cry about how your day sucked.

I mean, it would be normal to be in middle or high school and there not be a single decent boy. But, I mean seriously I'm 18 and it's my last year of University and man, am I fed up. You know those long hard days, where you have a million things to do and overdue papers and you really just need someone to hug or kiss and tell you to relax, maybe help you study, or just talk to you while you search for your papers.

I mean, I know I'm not like 30 and desperate but, It'd just be nice, ya know? I guess I am happy that I only have 2 months left. My plan is to get my own apartment here in London and try, hint the word try, to get a job as a radio show host. That has always been my dream. I mean I live in London anyways, and I'm already looking for an apartment so, maybe it will go as planned. HA! Who am I kidding? Nothing in my life goes as planned.

I moved to London 4 years ago with my family. I'm from America but my dad's job transfered us out here. When I turned 16, I decided to go to University like most of the English kids do. Last year, my dad's company moved him and my mom back to the states and I decided to stay here.

I kind of fell in love with the city. I love how the streets are busy. How you can walk down the sidewalk and not see a single person you know. How any tube station you go into there is some form of art. I don't know why, but I just feel like it's where I need to be.

"Miss. Paker would you like to add to that?" I snap out of my deep thought.

"Uhmm.... No, I'm good." I reply getting a death stare from the wicked Mr.Briggs. Finally the last bell of the day rings. I practically jump from my seat.

I open the door to my room. I see Allie applying zipping up her tight blue dress.

"Where are you goin?" I ask.

"Just gettin' ready for Ben's party. Aren't you coming?!" She asks.

"I wish. I made a booking to see an apartment before I knew it was today." I reply.

"Oh, well you could always come after! I mean Ben is one of your best friends." She says.

"I know. I talked to him about it. I just don't know if I will be able to make it. I mean I have a presentation to...."

"Oh my god! Seriously, Alex learn to live a bit! It's your last 2 months, and you're actually worrying about work?!"

"I know, I know... I'll try to make it." I reply throwing my books on my bed.

"Good. Now come here and help me zip this." She replies with a cheeky smile.

"You look amazing Al!" I say as she looks in the mirror.

"Thanks! I hope Jack thinks so." She says winking.

Jack, her boyfriend was kind of a... what do you call it... an ass. Yep, that's the word. She always came home and cried or ranted about how he did this or how he did that. He wasn't very trustworthy and definately didn't treat her right. I've tried telling her that, but she says she knows, but she loves him. They have been together for 2 years and I bet if I was in the same situation I would be the same way.

"He will, I mean dayum girl look at dem curves." I say snapping my finger. We both laugh.

"Thanks Alex." She says hugging me.

"Have fun, kid. And be safe." I say smiling. Allie was only a year younger than me but, sometimes I got a little protective. I mean, she was like a little sister to me.

"Yeah yeah." She says waving her hand and walking out the door.

I pull a Sprite out of the fridge and sit down on the couch. I grab my laptop and decide to try and finish my paper before the booking so I could maybe make it to Ben's.

I finally finish and realize I still have an hour till the booking, which is only 15 minutes away. I freshen up my makeup and brush through my straightened hair.

"Hi, I'm Alexandra Parker. I'm here to look at apartment 8B." I say to the lady at the front desk.

"Oh! Yes! Right this way!" She says standing up.

"So, we have a very nice building. Especially the top floor." She says as we stand in the elevator.

We walk down the hallway a bit. She pulls a key out of her pocket and unlocks the door.

"Wow, this is amazing!" I say looking at the view from the wall covered in windows.

"Yeah. Most people fight for the top floor apartments because of it." She replies.

She shows me around the rest of the apartment. It was definately the one. Two rooms with balconys, 2 bathrooms, 1 huge living room, an amazing kitchen.

"You said people fight for the top floor, are there many other people looking at it?" I ask.

"Yeah, quite a few." She answers.

"Oh, I do have to warn you, the resident on the left is a young boy. He seems to have many parties and we usually recieve noise complaints about them." She adds.

"My kind of dude." I snicker making her smile.

"I'll take it." I add.
