Lights Out

Don't judge the song. I think it fits really well.

--------------

I remember tears

Streaming down your face

When I said I'd

Never let you go

Jerome was happy when he noticed the storm was letting up. He silently cheered and smiled as the lightning took longer to sound. As the happy 22-year-old smiled and looked out his window, he didn't take notice of his flickering nightlight.

--------------

When all those shadows

Almost killed your light

I remember you said

Don't leave me here alone

--------------

The bright yellow light finally flickered off. The lightning had resided, and Jerome was now stuck in pitch black. The male trembled, cuddling closer into his stuffed Charizard. Mitch (and Alex) bought it for an 'early Christmas.' Jerome appreciated the gesture though, and kept it under his bed. E.T. was still on the chair, in his PokèMerch from Mitch's Pokèmon Card Prank vid. Jerome shuffled out of his room.

---------------

But all that's dead

And gone

And passed

Tonight

-------------

"Jerome?" Mitch croaked. His door creaked wider, and Jerome held the emergency flashlight. Mitch sat up groggily. "What's wrong? Why are you holding the emergency light?" Mitch took notice that Jerome looked terrified. The Canadian scooted over so his friend could come on over.

-------------

Just close your eyes

Th sun is going down

You'll be alright

No one can hurt you now

---------------

"The lights went out?" Mitch asked his scared friend. Jerome just scooted in closer, and Mitch wrapped his arms around his back. The American sighed contentedly. The older decided not to question the younger's actions. Nyctophobia was a common thing in children, but Jerome's stayed for quite a while.

---------------

Come morning light

You and I

Will be safe and

Sound.

----------------

The power stayed out for God knows how long. Mitch had fallen back to sleep, but his Bacca still lay awake. Jerome held in whimpers when only the howling wind was the only sound besides his pounding heartbeat.

---------------

Don't you dare look out

Your window, darling

Everything's

On fire

---------------

"The war outside our door keeps raging on. Hold on to this lullaby even when the musics gone." Mitch sung. "Gone." Jerome's eyes softened.

"Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now." Mitch ran his fingers through the coffee locks. "Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound." Jerome nuzzled into Mitch's neck.

The Canadian hummed the instrumental verse. Jerome's hold lessened a bit, but Mitch's didn't. The last verse, with lyrics, was sung.

"Just close your eyes, you'll be alright. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound..."

Mitch heard the sufficient soft snore of his sweet bacca.
