More time passed by that we weren't talking. It was uncomfortable but not. It was uncomfortable because I felt like we had to talk, but it wasn't because I know that we don't have to talk.

"Are you still mad at me?" Harry asked, taking the last bite out of his toast. I looked at him, not knowing what he's talking about. "About last night?" He cleaned up his mess below him.

"Oh." I nodded my head. "No." I said. I was going to say something else, until a faint "Mommy" was heard from behind him.

It was Avery standing at the end of the hallway, rubbing her tired eyes. I set my cup down and walked passed Harry, towards Avery.

"What's up, honey?" I picked her up.

"I miss daddy." She whined, taking a deep breath.

"I miss him too," I said quietly. I don't know why I felt weird showing my affection when Harry is here.

"When is he coming home?" She asked. I didn't answer her. Instead, I walked to Harry and put her in his arms. Her head immediately rested on his shoulder.

"Want to go get donuts?" Harry asked. Her head popped up and she smiled with her two front teeth. "Okay, go get Halley." He put her down and she ran into the hallway.

"I guess it's time to get ready." He chuckled and finished the rest of his toast. "Is there anything you want while I'm out?" He asked.

"Not that I can think of." I shrugged with a smile on my face. "I think....it's a good idea, if after breakfast...you go back home." I didn't look at him. It was quiet and then a deep sigh.

"Yeah, I'll-" he stopped talking. "I've got some work to do, so, I'll just go."

"So you're just gonna leave the girls then?" I looked at him, angry at him now.

"You want me to go?-" he was irritated.

"After you spend time with your children. Don't make me sound like I'm the bad guy, dammit." I raised my voice a little.

"I'm not saying anything." He rolled his eyes.

"Are you going to take the girls or not?" I put my hands on my hips and glared at him.

"No." He said flatly. "Like I said, I have work to do."

"Why did you say you'd take them?!" I yelled. He rolled his eyes again. He wasn't responding. "Why, Harry?" I yelled.

"Because I thought it was different." He huffed.

"Different?" I echoed. "How-what did you think would be different?" I furrowed my eyebrows, trying to wrap my head around this complex man.

"I thought...I thought- maybe.." He kept looking up and down at me, while stuttering his words.

Then it made sense.

"You thought...we were different?" I asked, shocked.

"I know it was a long shot, but it felt....different." He didn't look at me, he was still mad.

"Harry," I stopped myself. I did sort of feel different but not about him. I know that I still love Adam. Yes, I love Harry, but not the way I love Adam. The way I feel about Harry is nothing.

"Mom." Halley grabbed our attention. I looked at Harry, hoping he will still take the girls. But when we made eye contact, he had a sad glint in his eye, then replaced it with anger.

He left the room with a glare on his face, and it was lonely silence left to fill the space.

"Really mom?" Halley snarled. "You can't just let us have one day with him, without ruining it!" Halley screamed and stormed off.

I ran after her. She slammed the door in my face and screamed loudly. I jiggled the doorknob, only to find it locked.

"Tay?" Harry poked his head around the corner of the hallway.

"Go, Harry! Just go home!" I yelled. I stormed off to my bedroom and slammed the door shut behind me.

||I thought I'd update again, cause I'm feeling pretty jazzed ((((: I hope you have a good day today!||
