Hey everyone. This is just a sneak peek to my new series: Night World. I'm not going to post the rest of it until I am finished the book though. But, I might post a couple more chapters after this. It Depends :) But, thanks for reading and now on to the story!

I look out my living room window and watch as the sun sets behind the mountain. My house is surrounded by mountains, it’s beautiful. I have a lot of land, and a big pool. I like to go out there in the middle of the night and do some laps. Not because it wakes me up, actually i’m the most awake at night. During the day I feel drowsy. Why? Because i’m a thousand year old vampire. When I was first born, well, when I was changed into a vampire which I like to call born because it let me restart my life, I couldn’t stand the sun. I could go in it but if I spent more than five hours in it I would start to get blisters and it wasn’t fun but over the years my skin has become less and less sensitive to the sun and now I can stay in it for as long as I want it just makes me tired.
Do I need blood? Yes but not every day. I just need blood at least once a month, I can eat normal food but I don’t like to because it doesn’t taste normal but weirdly enough, I love water. Water is my second favourite fluid. I’m sure you can guess my favourite.
You know all those stories about how holy water hurts us? And how we can’t cross moving water, or how we can’t go in churches? All lies. None of those are true, and honestly, I don’t get where those came from, when I was a hundred and passing through a small town whose name I didn’t bother to remember I heard people talking and their conversation disturbed me.
I was standing in the trees, hidden from their view when they started talking. I held my breath, scared they would hear me; scared they would scream and accuse me of being a demon, which I am certainly not. Demons are deadly horrible creatures. I had an encounter with one soon after I was changed. It was a scary creature that I never want to encounter again. Even with all my built up strength over the years if a demon knocked on my door it would kill me in a split second. I would stand no chance. Demons are killing machines.
They are much like vampires; I like to call them the vampires from a place even lower then hell because they have all the quirks of vampires, but they kill mercifully and have no feelings and they have black eyes unlike vampires, whom have normal eyes. They are just dark disturbing creatures and thankfully I haven’t run into one ever since I was changed.
I stopped my breathing to listen to their conversation.
“Do you know what I heard?” One of the women said while putting down her little two year old dressed in a brown rag. The little girl ran over close to where my tree was and started picking flowers. I ducked more into the undergrowth, in the first couple hundred years of my life I was paranoid, scared of everything because I had no one to teach me how to be a vampire, I had no one to teach me what a vampire could or couldn’t do.
The other woman shook her head as she sat down and rubbed her purple and bruised feet. The first woman kept staring at her and finally after about a couple minutes she must have decided that she wasn’t going to say anything else. The woman leaned forwards and I had to strain to hear her.
“I heard that,” the woman licked her dry, cracked lips, “that there is a demon in our town and it won’t leave our town until the roads are red with blood.”
The woman shook her head and stretched her toes while moaning, she put her foot on her knee and started massaging the ball of her foot. “Oh Lucinda, you always did believe in all those fairy tales,” she switched feet and moaned as she stretched her toes again, “but trust me, there are no devils in this town.”

Vampire“Oh trust me Dan, it’s possible.” I close my eyes and all my other senses are getting more acute. “How about this? If you can get out of this alley without me catching you you’re free to go but if I catch you,” I smile and lick my lips, “then you’re...
