Karma's POV.

I slipped from the tree line, stealing onto the bridge as quiet as a shadow. I felt my fangs emerge as I walked up behind the girl. Input a hand on her shoulder.

She turns to me slightly  so that I see bright aquamarine eyes, filled with tears. She sees my fangs and tries to jerk away but I fasten my hand more tightly on her so that she can't move. She is whimpering slightly, whether from pain or fear I do not know.

She went to scream, but faster than she could draw breath, I clamped my hand over her mouth. That insolent girl bit down on  my hand, drawing blood, but I could hardly feel it.

I spun her around to face me. She was as weak and pathetic as a ragdoll. She looked into my eyes, shaking and afraid, but she wasn't begging or pleading like the other humans I've killed. There was a fierce and fiery determination in her eyes, whether she knew it or not.

I cast all this aside, as the thirst was overwhelming now, causing the breath to whistle up my throat painfully.

All this was in the space of a few seconds, my mind far superior as it is, comprehended everything far faster than hers. So she still had a slightly befuddled look in her eyes as I sank my fangs into her neck.

As soon as the warm blood touched my tongue, leaked down my throat, I knew there was something wrong. It was oddly spicy, as though it was charged with electricity.

I pushed her off me and she clutched her throat, backing to the edge of the bridge. I could see the venom, a sickly yellow colour, coursing through her body, fogging her mind, paralysing her.

No, 'It.' It wasn't human, it couldn't be.

Snarling I shoved it, causing it to topple backwards over the edge of the bridge, and into the shallow ravine below.

Deliria's POV.

I looked out over the water running over the rocks. It was pretty. Very pretty. I sniffled and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, If I were at home right now I would have been ridiculed for crying. That's why I took walks, it gave me a chance to vent.

Someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I gasped. Whirling around I looked into the dark eyes of a girl around nineteen. She had black hair in a pixie cut and there was something... wrong about her. I tried to struggle but her grip got tighter, almost crushing the bones in my shoulder.

She was strong...

She smiled menacingly and I tried to scream but she quickly clamped a hand over my mouth. Too quickly. I guess you're wondering why I tried to scream? Well, she had fangs. Not like those cheap, plastic fangs that you buy at a costume shop but full-on, Sharp, long, strong looking fangs that tapered to a deadly point at the end.

I squirmed and an idea came to mind. I clamped my teeth onto her palm and bit hard, drawing blood. The girl got fed up and lunged, sinking those deadly fangs into my neck. My brain was clouded by some kind of fog as soon as I felt the sharp sting at my neck. It was painful. It really hurt. I tried to cry out but nothing happened. It was like I was paralysed. Not long after the bite, she released me and stepped back, looking at me with a frustrated, almost shocked, look on her face.

I clutched my neck and tried not to fall over, I tried to watch what she was doing but suddenly my body was almost as if it were on fire and electrically charged at the same time. It was painful and exciting at the same time. I stood there, still holding my neck. The girl pushed me. I reacted a second too late and went tumbling over the bridge. I was in the air for a second then I felt my head crack against the rocks and the bones in one of my arm shatter. I knew there was blood, I knew the water would be stained red with it. I think my neck may have broken because soon the pain, all feeling, faded away. I felt my thoughts receding and welcomed the numb feeling. I knew I was dying but apathy seeped into my mind until I finally blacked out...

And then my eyes opened...
