Zayn moaned and rolled over, the sunlight hitting his eyes as he awoke from his slumber. He peeled his eyes open, only to find a pair of blue ones staring back at him. "GAAH! WHAT THE FREAKING HE-" He shouted, flailing his arms around violently as he slid off the bed. "S-Sorry, master," The owner of the blue eyes mumbled out, peering over the edge of the bed at Zayn.

"Who the heck are you? I'm not your master, what's going on?" Zayn sat up on the floor, giving a confused glare at the oddly familiar boy sitting on his bed. "Yes you are. You made me," The boy replied as if it were obvious. Zayn furrowed his brow as he examined the boy. Then it clicked.

The boy was blonde, and his voice was laced with a thick Irish accent when he spoke. His eyes were a deep shade of blue, the same shade he had used to draw his dream boy last night. The only thing covering the boy were the blankets that Zayn had tousled when falling, so this boy was evidently naked. All of his features matched the drawing. This boy was Niall.

Zayn gaped. "How?!?" He yelled. Niall flinched and chuckled nervously. "I don't know how the Book of Living Sketches works, master, it's a mystery to me. I think somebody put a spell on it a couple hundred years ago, y'know, before magic died out." He explained it calmly, like it was everyday conversation. Zayn shook his head. "The Book of Living what??" He asked, perplexed. He scrambled up from his position on the floor and walked briskly over to his bed. He frantically searched for a title of some sort, finding nothing but the small hidden words scrawled on the inside cover. arte Vivet ut Circulo mortis. What did it mean?

"How does this thing work? What did it do? Did you just crawl out of the pages or something, I don't get it!" Zayn fired questions at the blond haired boy, looking between him and the notepad.

Niall shrugged. "Well, whenever you draw a potentially tangible object, and you want it bad enough, just make sure to leave the sketchpad open and when the moonlight hits it, whatever you drew will become real," he stated, shifting in the sheets of the bed as he explained.

Zayn shook his head. "This doesn't make any sense, magic doesn't exist!" He flipped through the sketchbook as he listened to Niall's explanation. "It does, just not as often as it used to. The only things left are charmed things, like the pad you're holding."

"O-Okay..." Zayn said, brows furrowing as he glanced back at the blond. "S-So what do I do now?" He asked, setting the sketchpad down on his desk. Zayn tentatively sat down next to Niall, and ran a hand through his hair tiredly.

"Well, you can just go about your daily life, I suppose. I'm just going to be living with you now, master." Niall said, moving under the bed sheets so he was sitting Indian style.

"Call me Zayn, okay? Master doesn't sound right. Secondly, I can't go around doing my daily routines when I know I just created a person. Do you know how incredible that is?" He glanced at Niall, who rolled his eyes. "You make it sound like you just got a girl pregnant," He said, smirking. Zayn chuckled. "You're one for humor, I'll tell you that," he said.

"Okay, first we have to get you clothed," Zayn said, getting off of the bed. Niall shook his head. "Why do you guys even wear clothes? they're sooo uncomfortable." He laid down flat on his back, where the sheets were just barely covering his waist.

Zayn sighed. "Because it's not nice to show your willy in public," He replied. "But it's just you and me, we're not in public!" Zayn glared at Niall. "Geez, I don't want to see you with your proper knob out!" He said in an exasperated tone. Niall sat up. "You mean you don't want to see all of your creation?" He asked in mock sadness.

"Um, no thank you," Zayn replied as he set a pile of clothes on the bed. "Harsh," Niall said. "You do need a boyfriend," he said. Zayn stopped in the doorway. "I know why you created me," he said as Zayn turned to look at him. "I'm not stupid," Niall said, smirking. "I know why you created me." He rolled his eyes at the flushed look Zayn gave him. "Now I just gotta get you to love me. After all, I did only start out a drawing. I need to build a relationship behind this pretty face," He said, giving Zayn a cheeky smile.

Zayn sighed. "Just put on some clothes," He muttered.
