"What was your old high school like?" I asked Rachel and Angela. It was lunch and we were sitting on one of the picnic tables outside.
"Huge. It was hard to remember where everything was," Angela said.
"It was big. What was the most interesting was all the fights that happened in a five minute time period," Rachel said.
"Yeah, we have a few fights here but not that many. At least of what I know of," I said.
"Is it caused by someone like him?" Rachel asked. She pointed to a guy on a motorcycle.
"Yep, that's Jackson Adams. Not the best person around," I said. He was driving the motorcycle towards us when he fell and the bike ran into a statue. Ah, crap.
I tackled Angela and Rachel to the ground so they wouldn't get cut by the broken pieces that was flying at them. I tried to cover them while also trying to protect my head.
"Idiot," I mumbled before getting up.
"Are you guys ok?" I asked Angela and Rachel.
"Yeah," Rachel answered.
"I'll be back," I said. I ran over to Jackson, forgetting about my fear.
"What were you thinking?" I yelled.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for asking," he said sarcastically.
"I didn't ask that."
"I was taking a ride. Then I lost control and ran into a statue. Well, I didn't, my bike did." I tasted blood on my tongue.
"Are you ok?" He asked, suddenly turning soft.
"I'm great."
"Liar, come on," he said, motioning to the school.
"Why would I go anywhere with you?"
"Do you really want to make a sce-" he was interrupted by a very angry principal.
"Johnson, Adams, in my office. Now," he yelled. I then walked quickly off to his office. I heard Jackson sigh then follow. This was exactly how I wanted to spend my afternoon. Exactly.

"Your lip is bleeding, and nose," Jackson said after he sat down in a chair next to me."I'll clean it up later." He mumbled something then got up and went to the office next door. The nurse was following him when he came back a few minutes later. The nurse tended to my nose and lip.
"Thanks," I mumbled when she finished. She nodded then left. Next came in an angry principal. He slammed the door closed then glared at Jackson.
"First day and you already wrecked a statue. Good job, Mr. Adams," the principal said.
"I try," Jackson Adams said.
"What does this have to do with me?" I asked.
"You, Miss Johnson and Mr. Adams will be working together to work on the first dance of the senior year. It's in a month," the principal said calmly.
"What?" I yelled. I'm used to making the dance as great as I can with my own committee. Not the baddest bad boy in the school.
"You heard me. And if either of you back out, you won't graduate."
"I'm top in my class. You couldn't do that."
"I can and I will." Jackson was just sitting there smiling in amusement.
"Have a good day you two. And don't forget what I said," the principal said before leaving.
"Well, princess, looks like you're stuck with me," Jackson smirked.
"Looks like I am." I glared at him then rushed out of the office. This is going to be an interesting first month of school.

"So, princess, when are we working and where?" Jackson asked as he came up to my locker.
"My name is Mia not princess and at the cafeteria at four thirty to five thirty."
"Alright, princess, see you then," he winked at me then left. I shut my locker door, actually slammed, then went to my car.
"You really should lock your car," Rachel said from the back seat.
"Yeah, some lunatics could've surprised you," Angela said. I'm surprised I didn't yell or scream but my heart was beating almost out of my chest.
"I think some did."
"Hey," Angela said, fake hurt.
"No, she's right," Rachel said before she climbed into the passenger seat.
"Where to?" I asked.
"The closest McDonald's," Rachel said. I checked my watch. It read 3:15.
"Fine, but I have somewhere to be at four thirty," I said as I started my car.
"That's in more than a hour. We should be done by four," Angela said.
"Ok," I said. I drove us to the closest McDonald's. We ordered our food then started talking about random things. At one point Rachel shouted out, "Hey trouble," to some guy. He smirked then came over to us.
"I think you're trouble, not me."
"If I am, it's because I get it from you."
"Who's this?" The guy asked, motioning to me.
"That's Mia, Mia meet my older brother Luke."
"Hello," I said.
"How did Rachel end up being friends with you?"
"By being a random person. She chose me to come up to and now we're friends."
"Yep, that's just like her. Well, I'll see you all later. Nice to meet you, Mia."
"You too," I said as he left. I checked the time and it was four o'clock.
"It's four. We better go," I said. Angela nodded and we all got back in my car. We had a jam session as I drove to their house.
"See you tomorrow," I said.
"See you then," Rachel said. Angela waved before I headed off to the school.
I get to work with the only person I'm scared of in this school. No one else scares me but Jackson. We both have a hidden back story. Only Jackson knows my full back story and I know some of his. If they didn't fit together, then I wouldn't be scared of him.
I went into the cafeteria and set my stuff down. Jackson came in fifteen minutes late.
"You're late," I said.
"Sorry."
"Change of plans, we are going to the shed out back. There should be some supplies there." I grabbed my stuff and walked out the gym doors. Jackson was following me.
I pushed open the doors and coughed when the dust flew in my mouth.
"You ok?" He asked.
"I'm fine."
"Mia, look at me." I turned to him.
"I'm not like them." Those words broke a nerve.
"Liar," I said before slapping him, as hard as I could, in the face. I'll pay for that.
