''You're just a fucking bastard!'' She said, slapping me.
By reflex, I put my hand on my cheek. She hit it so hard that it tingles.
''You're kidding, aren't you?''
''I am sorry'' I say.
She slaps me a second time and leave me alone in my parking.
''Ouch. I think she is not really happy.''
I turn and Liam is near me.
''You think?'' I said, laughing a little.
''Can I ask you what was that?''
''Taylor. My gir... Well, my ex-girlfriend."
''Oh ok. You just broke up.''
I nod. Did I do well? I no longer loved her, but is she is really sad and it's only for me to go mercy?
''Hey, I know nothing here ... You think you could show me a bit around ?''
I accept with joy.
Our city is not super big. We really need to search to find "just to us" places. Small hiding places where we know that nobody can disturb us.
I show him the most important and popular places.
Movie theater and shopping center that are close. The super popular park. Some small shops frequently visited on the main street of our little city.
We brave the icy weather. Normally, I can't support the cold, but I feel like I don't want leave Liam. There is something in his presence that I do not want to lose.
''There is a cafe not far from here? I am really cold and I need a coffee'' He said.
I bring him to a little restaurant on the main street. A warm great place. Many young people go there to do their homework or just talking and - certainly - to drink a coffee.
The place is quite modern. The counter is on the right of the front door. There are two rows of tables, with around ten tables, to the left. Everything is black and brown. A great and big silver door is at the back, like a door of a former bank. The menus, which are above the counter, are great and big. Everything is hand written in chalk and colors.
This place opened only three years, but it's one of the most popular.
We go and he orders a coffee and me a hot chocolate milk. I've never liked coffee.
''I pay'' Says Liam.
''Oh no, no way. You're not going to pay for me.''
"Too late'' Liam say with a big smile.
I give him a killing look. We almost don't know each other and he pay for me!
Well, I just always hated when people pay for me. Although it's a small drink, I am the who will drink it, not them. So they don't need to pay.
We sit at a table in the back. We talk about our respective lives. Why he moved here, where he comes from.
He comes from the United States and he moved to Canada because his mother has been offered a job. It also explains that this is the fifth attends school in five years. It's a lot! I have only two schools since I started my schooling!
I took the time to detail him while he tells stories of his past. He has brown hair and blue eyes - bluer than an ocean. When we look at him, his eyes are the first things we noticed. He has glasses, Ray Ban. Taller than me of about ten centimeters. Moreover, I've never seen such white teeth as his!
He wear Vans today. Beige trousers and a burgundy sweater. His winter coat is black, very simple.
"So, you've always live here?"
"Yes. I've never known elsewhere, unfortunately."
"It is true that it's fun. Traveling, I mean. You discover a lot of places that you never thought would exist. But, you can never really get attached to someone. You never know when you're going to leave and where. I lost many friends because of it."
I've never had real friends. False, well that's another story. All the people who stand with me every day are just lick ass. Literally.
''I've always dream to travel. The furthest I've been is at the end of the town.''
''If you like, when I go back to United States to see my family, you can come'' he said with a smile.
I smiled too.
We finished our drinks and we leave to tour the city a little bit again to end up at our house.
I think it's the best day I've live in years.
