Chapter Two

Rebecca parked her second stolen car this week a little ways down the road, and walked only half a mile to the motel. The lady at the front desk gave her a sideways look and made a face as she tossed her the key to her room. The room she entered was musty and smelt like salt. Rebecca threw her backpack on one of the beds and walked over to the bathroom. An FBI badge was askew on the floor under the sink and she picked it up curiously. She inspected it and discovered it was fake. She tucked it in her back pocket anyway.
After washing her face and tieing her hair up, she plopped down on the bed. Staring up at the ceiling, she thought about what to do next.  She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, she was back. She was back three weeks ago, when she was climbing out her sister's car that was unrecognizable because of the damage.
