Marshall's POV

'' I don't want to talk! I told you not to bother me anymore!'' I yell at my crush of 4 years of my life.

'' we're both Vampires Marshall.  We belong together, obviously.'' she said.

'' Clearly we're both Vampire's Selena. But different from you, I am going to love my mate whatever she is. I won't sleep with people just my kind, I have a life outside Vampire's.'' I say and hit her in the shoulder.

'' Uhg.''she says.

I make my way to the History Room.

'' Marshall, i'm glad you came here to join us.'' the teacher says, sending out vibes that I just interrupted something.

'' Whatever.'' I say and take a seat next Wamblee. which she is sitting alone.

'' Thanks Marshall.'' Wamblee says quietly.

'' No problem.'' I say back.

I look over to Jake, he is glaring at me. I could sense that he is dismayed with me, but I don't care.

we stare down then I feel something warm grab my hand. I look to see Wamblee's hand wrapped with mine.

I look over to her and smiles. I look over to Jake and he growls, quietly. I smirk.

When class is finally over, Wamblee and I make our way to our lockers. Wamblee is behind me when I exit the class.

I open my locker and stare at Wamblee.

'' take a picture, it will last longer.'' she says and closes her locker.

'' Do you want to come to my house after school?'' I ask her.

her face seemed to brighten.

'' Yeah, anywhere but that hell whole of a pack house!'' she says and smiles.

'' Good, 'cause I need a new dinner tonight.'' I say and lean in.

instead of being scared, Wamblee grabs my sweatshirt and kisses me.

we pull apart and she says,'' i'm stronger than you.'' waving her finger in my face.

'' Yeah I know, but I have fangs.'' I say and tap my fangs.

'' I have  dog teeth.'' Wamblee says and taps her teeth.

'' ew.'' I say.

'' Your teeth aren't such charmers either.'' she says.

we walk to lunch, and we enter the lunch room.

everything turns silent as we sit down. once we do, noise starts up again.

'' i'm going to go get lunch.'' Wamblee says and gets up.

as she walks to the salad bar, a jock walks up to her. I rush over to her.

'' Stay away, Emery.'' I say.

'' get away freak.'' he says.

'' Don't touch her Emery.'' I say again.

he crosses his hand over to her hair. before he touches Wamblee's hair, I twist his arm.

he screams in pain and falls to the ground.

his two friends come running over trying to take my grip off his arm, but my hand won't budge.

'' you can stop now.'' Wamblee whispers in my ear. I let go of Emery's arm and walk away.

Everything is silent till we sit down, sound slowly starts up again.

'' why did you do that?'' Wamblee asks me, picking at her salad.

'' Because I care about you Wamblee.'' I say, not realizing what came out of my mouth.

she stares at me in shock.

'' What?!'' I ask.

I soon realize what I just said. I widen my eyes as she looks at me.

'' Sorry Wamblee, it just slipped out of my mouth.'' I say, apologetically.

'' no one ever said that to me before, because no one cared about me. '' she said.

'' well, I guess you get used to it now.'' I say and then walk out of the now silent lunch room.

how could I say that? she is turning 18 in a week, what if she finds her mate and leaves here? she can't leave, i'll have nobody to talk to or be myself around. that tomboy is someone that I can't lose.

I soon walk into the boys bathroom. I hear crying.

'' hello?'' I ask.

who ever is sobbing keeps it up. I find which stall it is and see Jake.

'' What do you want Marshall?'' he says, not trying to cry more.

'' What is wrong?'' I ask.

'' S- she is my mate.'' he says.

'' Who?'' I ask.

'' Wamblee.''  he says.

'' why are you crying?'' I ask him.

'' I already mated with someone else.'' he says and looks at me.
