Okabe Hikaru sighed as he look where his son placed his lab. He couldn't even believe that he would place it at the top of an Electronics Shop. He walked up at the stairs and when he's finally near the front door, he knocked and waited for his son to open it.

Rintarou heard it at last and opened the door. "You're finally here in my lab! Now I appoint you as Lab Member No. ------" he stopped and sweatdropped when his own father punched his own mouth that sent him flying.

Hikaru clenched his fists and told him, "I told you not to use that Kyouma-Mode of yours to me!"

His friends, including Jodie stared at him with surprised reactions. Mayuri quickly went beside Rintarou and cried, "Okarin's dead!"

Hikaru laughed. "Oh, he's not dead. He just passed out."

He took a water bottle and showered it to his son that woke Rintarou. "What happened?"

Hikaru stopped the ridiculous act and Rintarou knew that he means business. Rintarou organized himself more formally, stood up and bowed to his father. "I'm sorry. I won't do it to you again."

Hikaru stared at all of his friends and shouted, "GET OUT!!!"

Rintarou was surprised by what was happening that shocked everyone inside the lab.

"Why do we have to get out?" Jodie asked but Hikaru just stared at her angrily that scared her.

"Kids, let's go out. It seems father and son wants to talk privately.

When everyone was already leaving, Hikaru spoke to Shinichi while Rintarou was frozen in front of him, "Stay here. What I'm only going to tell should only be among the three of us, most especially, I still wonder why you have Reading Steiner just like me and my son."

Shinichi was shocked by that revelation.

"Close the door," ordered Hikaru.

Shinichi followed and went beside Rintarou. "If it's about the Reading Steiner, Makise knows more about it! She's as intelligent as you."

Hikaru snapped, "Reading Steiner was once only exclusive to my family. My wife has it, my son has it and I have it. I wonder why you have it."

Rintarou regained himself and asked, "What about that yellow fever I had when I was a kid?"

Hikaru walked near the windows and closed the curtains. "It's a normal thing especially to us, my son."

"Normal? Wait... Why... Why do we have this ability?" Rintarou asked.

"I don't know all of the details but our ancestors will still be born in the future and if us, their descendants won't be able to change Shinichi's future, the cycle won't stop. Third World War, your death, Makise Kurisu's death or becoming the Mother of the Time Machine, Amane Suzuha's mission to change the future, Daru's invention and lastly, you, having all of this experiences, son... All of those things are interconnected together. Build the Time Leap Machine again and go back to the most safe world. Delete the last d-mail Shinichi created and you'll return to Steins Gate Time Line. It is in the Steins Gate timeline where you should fight against the Black Organization," Hikaru told him that baffled Rintarou and Shinichi.

"But... aren't we at Steins Gate Time Line, already? We undid Shiho's d-mail and returned back here," he told his father that made his father laugh so hard and receive a punch from his father.

His father collared him and told him, "I'm trying to save you here! You're my son! I don't want you to die in that hopeless war!"

Rintarou couldn't believe what he heard from his father. His father released him and he sighed, "You also have Reading Steiner, right? What timeline are we?"

His father looked at him, surprised, "Son... Do you ever asked yourself what happens to you when you leave or jump through timelines?"

Rintarou went frozen when he heard his father say that while Shinichi particularly don't know why he needs to stay inside. 

Silence covered the room for a bit until his father tells him, "I don't jump timelines like you but I am always the one who can notice that you're different from the other Rintarous but not just that, my son. I remember memories from the last timeline that you jumped on. That is the difference between me and Makise. Makise just notices that you jumped again. So, what do you think happens to you when you leave the last timeline?"

Rintarou doesn't particularly know what he should say until he theorized, "I forget everything and I go along the time and I repeatedly die. Third World War still happens except in Steins Gate World Line where there is no Third World War."

His father took a deep breath and told his son, "SERN isn't your enemy in that timeline. Your enemy in that timeline is the Black Organization. Follow my instructions, understood?"

He was about to leave when Rintarou asked him, "When we go back there, what will happen to you? I thought that undoing Shiho's d-mail is enough."

Hikaru touched the knob and told him, "Shinichi, Shiho and I, remembers what happens in the last timeline. There is only one world line where we don't remember anything from the other world lines. That is the Steins Gate World Line. Undo the d-mail first and if you return to the time that you're supposed to allow someone to use the d-mail. Upon Conan's arrival, use the Time Leap Machine and save Shinichi from becoming one of Black Org's victims. Go alone, understood?"

Going back alone is painful and changing what has been done already is scary, most of all, Rintarou had experienced attractor fields that made him fail numerous times until his father told him, "Steins Gate World Line doesn't have one. You can change the future easily in that timeline."

"So, what time should I go?" he asked.
Hikaru took his hand off from the knob and pointed at Shinichi, "You know what I'm talking about, right?"

Shinichi's tears fell down bitterly and told them, "Why me? Why do you have to save me?"

Hikaru closed the lights and told him, "Why??? You don't know? Everything is centered around you. Time lines converge and diverge for the first time when you became a victim of Black Organization. My son was actually still in high school at the time, like you."

Shinichi dried his tears and told Okabe Rintarou, "If its possible to save me, that means Ran will also be saved, right?"

Hikaru nodded. Then, Shinichi told him, "After we undo the d-mail, Rintarou-san, go at the time where I and Ran visited Tropical Island. Tell me that you came from the future. At that certain time, I have also investigated a case. Don't make me leave Ran's side. I'd believe you when you actually tell me that I live beside Professor Agasa's house and most of all, you're the one who'd actually solve the case, no, I'd believe you when you will tell me who the culprit is already."

Okabe Rintarou accepted the mission and his father reminded him that he can only do that once, only. If he fails once, his father would painfully wait until Okabe becomes a college student.

Their friends quickly entered the lab already as Hikaru leaves. He quickly informed Makise about what they have talked about that shocked her.

"W-w-w-Wait! Changing that... It'll cause a bigger change to the future!" Kurisu told him. "It's possible that we might not find each other again!"

Tears fell from all of them but Rintarou knows that he has to follow his father's order to save the world and to help Shinichi Kudo. He needed to sacrifice himself for them. "The truth is, I may actually be John Titor, right? Listen. When I change the future, you will forget everything. I am the only one who'd remember. I have to follow father's order for everyone's sake... For everyone's reality."

It may be painful for all of them but it has to be done and Makise knows it. Makise built up the Phone Microwave, attached a cellphone and Shinichi deletes his text message of himself.

Since it seems to be a long time that Rintarou experienced it, when he returned to Steins Gate World Line, he almost chocked and vomitted. When he came to, he finally realized that he is back at Steins Gate World Line and Shinichi have returned as Conan, once again.
