3:30 PM

"Dad, I'm nervous. I'm scared to be chosen. I'm not prepared for this. What if I get reaped?" As my sister cry infront of my dad. I could see the sadness and anxiety in her face.

As I'd thought, what if my sister got reaped? I don't know what will happen. I can't even volunteer for her because she's a girl. Ugh. This feeling is just so bad.

"Peter, we're going now. It's okay bud. There are thousands of people there and you have a rare chance. Think positive." My dad would throw these strong words as my eyes would flood thinking of what will happen.

I went outside and whispered to my self. "If this is my last day seeing my family infront of me, I only have one wish. I hope they stay strong together."

"Peter, it's time to go." A cold voice I would hear beside me. My mom. We would walk to the Reaping. And after a few minutes, we arrived.

The tension inside me would increase. As I saw this queue before the entrance. You could see these men in white suits around the place and it just gives me the creeps.

Now, it's my turn as they would inject something in my arm and pushes me inside the crowd. A crowd of thousands people and one might get chosen. After my sister got injected, we would separate ways. And I would see her face in tears.

I'd check the queue before the entrance, and there's only one boy left. It's Jay. He walks beside me and Ellie Tinker would start talking.

"Welcome, welcome. Welcome to the 74th Annual Hunger Games! As today, we will have 2 tributes that would represent your district for the games. One male tribute and a girl tribute. Now, may the odds be ever in your favor." Her creaking voice would be heard clearly and tension heats up.

"Let's start by the Gentlemen! Our male tribute is.... Jay Goldenbee!" As I'd hear my bestfriend's name I really got shocked and I could see his face, like shattered glass as his tears would start dropping.

"Jay Goldenbee, where are you?" And Jay would raise his hand. I could see him get pulled to the platform. But I just can't take it seeing my bestfriend crying. This could be his last day. So, I started shouting.

"Jay, NO! I volunteer! I volunteer as a tribute!" I just can't take it. His family needs him. He's the only child left in his family. As soon as they could recognize me, they started pulling me to the platform.

I'd look back and see Jay moving back crying. I'd search for my family and saw them at the backrow. Flooded with tears.

"Ladies and gentlemen! District 13's first ever tribute! State your name." Ellie would raise my hand as I'd response. "Pet-Peter. Peter Evergreen."

"Okay Peter. You may sit down for a second as we choose our female tribute." Ellie would grab a piece of paper from a jar. And opens it. As soon as she opens the paper, I would feel my heart beating faster.

"Our female tribute.. Lavander Burnleech!" I could see a girl with glasses and purple hair getting carried by the peacemakers. She starts crying and sobbing trying to get out. A woman behind the peacemakers would try to stop them but she got kicked and fell.

"NO! Don't hurt her! Mom I'll be fine. I promise!" I'd hear her shouting at the woman. As she reaches the platform.

"Ladies and gentlemen, our tributes for the 74th Annual Hunger Games! Peter Evergreen and Lavander Burnleech! May the odds be ever in your favor."

The peacemakers would start pulling us through the building behind us.
