The sweet whisper of the oceans song entices the young female, her dark brown locks tangling in the wind, her dark chocolate eyes staring out to sea in yearning, wanting of something only her heart could understand. A three day boat cruise is exactly what the teenage girl needed, some time away from her school. only seventeen yet she was ready, ready for anything that came her way yet she was too innocent, pure and untouched. She remembered her best friend and her grandparents words before she left for the cruise, half in mockery and half in a serious tone

"Don't forget to look for love Caitlin, you never know what might happen out at sea"

With a sigh, the young female left the on board party behind her, the brightly coloured lights and the sound of laughter being washed away like the foam beneath the boat, being left behind and forgotten as she took a deep breath of the salty air, enjoying the cool evening air on her pale skin. As she slowly walked along the desks she heard a tune, an entirely different one to the one she was hearing moments ago from the loud speakers but a soft one, one filled with soul and passion that joined with a voice that yearned, it needed the same thing her heart did.

"Here by the sea, when its just you and me,
let me hold you here in my arms tonight"

The voice called to her softly, the words drowning her mind, leaving her wanting to gasp for air. She wandered forward slowly, searching for the creator of this melody

"Here by the sea, when its just you and me,
don't leave me hear alone tonight"

She stopped and slowly looked around, finally spotting the only other person away from the floating party. He sat on the edge of the railing, an acoustic guitar in hand, confident fingers strumming the cords delicately, his deep eyes staring down at his hands. He didn't seem to notice the female standing there, he just continued with his song

"So please, oh please baby wont you stay the night?
Because I'm staring out to sea and i cant put up a fight

So please, oh darling wont you let me hold you tight?
Because without you in my life there will be no light"

The young brunette couldn't help herself, she started to clap

"That was beautiful" She whispered lightly, as if sharing a secret between the two of them. The male looked up, shock in his dark eyes

"You... Liked my song?" He asked curiously, his voice deep yet gentle with a hint of something foreign. Caitlin nodded softly and offered a friendly smile, slowly going over to him. Finally, she met someone her own age on this boat and he seemed nice. He grinned brightly, a flash of white teeth.

"Come here, sit with me. my name is Finnigan, but you may call me Finn" He introduced himself as she came to sit by his side

"I'm Caitlin, nice to meet you Finn" She smiled softly.

At that moment a wave crashed into the side of the boat, throwing the young female off balance, making her tip backwards, her eyes wide with surprise. Her hand reached out to grab something to keep her from falling overboard but she was only met by the cold air. Shock ran through her system and she was about to cry out for help when a strong arm wrapped around her waist, holding her upright and on the boat

"You alright there?" Finn asked, looking at her in concern, noting the fear on her beautiful features.

Caitlin could only nod and hold onto him, and after a few more moments she laughed softly, like the tinkle of windchimes, making the male smile

"Thanks Finn" She giggled softly, and soon the male was laughing with her.

As they talked and got to know each other a bit more Caitlin remembered the words of her best friend and her grandparents and they were right, you never know what will happen out at sea, or who you will meet for that matter.
