"you can do it joshua, today's the day." joshua uttered to himself as he walked through the campus gate.

joshua was occupied by his thoughts when someone called his name from afar.

"joshua!" he went to search for that voice until he saw her. she waved both of her hands in the air. joshua smiled and waved back to her.

"what took you so long?" she asked as she put her hands on her waist. "oh? um, something just happened on my way here." joshua replied as he gave her a faint smile.

she stared at him for about 2 minutes before walking next to him, linking their arms. joshua is already used this clingy side of hers. the campus actually thinks that they're dating. but in reality, they're not.

the bell rang, which indicated that they should be in their classes before their teacher does.

joshua and kristel are classmates and best friends since their first year of high school. joshua has definitely developed feelings for her. after all, kristel's attractive. the thing is, kristel also likes him, but is afraid of confessing her feelings. afraid that she might get rejected. they like each other, but they don't know it.

it felt like eternity when the classes had already started. he doesn't feel to listen at their teacher nor concentrate at their activities. it felt like everytime he tries to focus on her work, kristel will eventually pop out of his mind.

thankfully he had her to have a beautiful view to wipe away his boredom. every now and then, joshua will take a glance at her. joshua is sitted at row two, column two at the right. while kristel is just behind him sitted beside the window. kristel's head is resting on her palm. she's obviously sleeping since her mouth is open. whenever she opened her sleepy eyes, she would see joshua looking at her and the latter one will immediately look away.

the classes are over and it's already time to go home. joshua took a minute to build up his courage to tell her about his feelings for her.

"kristel." he broke the silence. kristel lifted her head and gazed at him.

"what?" she responded with a thin lip smile raising her both eyebrows.

before he can replied, someone interrupted him. "kristel!" someone shouted from behind. they both turned their heads in unison.

"oh, hi dino." kristel greeted with a smile and waved to him. "what brings you here?" she asked.

dino rubbed the back of his neck before saying a thing. "mingyu actually wants you to help him. uh, he's having a hard time doing his science project."

kristel is hesitant about answering him. there are rumors that he's a fckboi, and she's not actually sure if it's really what he needs. she, then, thought that maybe, she should ask sam to join her and mingyu.

kristel nodded. "okay, then. let's go." she stood up, when she realized that joshua still has something to tell her. "oh, joshua i'm sorry. was there anything you needed to tell me?" why does it feel like he's gonna confess something. that tensed look, and he's doing his mannerisms again with his fingers. is she just assuming?

joshua gave her a faint smile and shaked his head. "ah, nothing. go on kristel. please be safe. bye." he waved goodbye and bowed down to her. kinda disappointed not knowing about joshua's real intentions. she's totally confused right now. maybe they should go.

he watched dino and kristel walk to the distance, while feeling jealous.

he should've told her earlier. he regrets being slow, but is thankful at the same time 'cause he still needs time to reflect on himself and his actions. maybe next time.
