That's how my summer is going to be ^^^
This is really short. It's just a filler for the story. The rest will come later.
Connor's POV
Our one little sleepover seemed to flash by like lightning and before I knew it, I was back in my room and staring at the wall in boredom.
It was a hurried goodbye because Troye forgot that he had to go to some family breakfast event in a fancy building downtown. He drove me to my car (which was still standing in the Suburbia parking lot) and insisted that he drove alongside me to my house. I said he would be late. He told me in his thick accent that he didn't care one bit about 'stupid fancy parties'.
He apologised to my frantic mother, who I had completely forgot about last night. She calmed down thankfully as soon as Troye had explained what had happened. No one is mad at Troye for long.
I touched my cheek. I could still feel his lips where he gave me an endearing kiss goodbye.
~~~skip skip skip cuz im lazy. I just wanna get to the good parts when I write.~~~
I hadn't heard from Troye all day yesterday. I understood he was busy on Sundays but something had to be up from the lack of texts I was getting back on my phone.
This time as I hurried through the school halls to get to homeroom, I kept my head up. I was watching to possible attackers, but mostly I was looking for my blue-eyed boy.
Despite my attempt at being observative, someone slammed right into my side and I staggered to the right, somehow keeping my balance.
I shook off my confusion to see a girl look up at me from under her long hazel bangs. Our collision had caused her to fall with her huge stack of books and papers.
As the gentleman I am, I immediately started to help the young girl gather the spilled papers. I glanced at her to see that she was staring at me and her cheeks pinked; her eyes flickered back down before I could say something. So that's how I look all the time to Troye. He must think I look pretty silly.
From her lack of words and her height, I guessed she was a freshman. One of the quiet ones like me.
As I handed her back the papers, I noticed one note that stuck out like a bright yellow thumb.
"CHRISTMAS PARTY INVITE" It screamed in neon green and red.
"Hey, can I look at this?" I asked her.
She blinked at me with her wide eyes and nodded, "Sure but they're posted all over the boards in school. But you can just take one."
Usually I'm not the one for parties or snooping around girl's papers, but this interested me a bit. It happened every year, and now that I had someone to go with me, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
I nodded to her, "Thanks".
She blushed again and shook her head, "No problem. Thanks for helping me."
I tilted my head, "What's your name?"
"Jess."
I smiled, "Connor. Nice to meet you Jess. Good luck with high school as a freshman."
She just smiled back shyly and nodded, walking away from our conversation and waving goodbye.
I ran to homeroom, liking the way my chest lifted a little. Who knew little conversations were so nice? I arrived in my seat just as the bell rang.
Troye wasn't there, but Sebb was. He glared at me as I passed by him and I wondered if Troye beating him up was really worth it now.
I hid in the back corner again, wishing hard that Troye would pop up any moment and save me from the looks that people were giving me as I arranged my composition.
My wish came true as soon as soon as I thought it. He strode through the door hurriedly, handing the teacher a late slip, and rushed to the back where I sat without hesitation. He grinned when he saw me and plopped down in the chair beside me.
"Where have you been?" I asked him. "You weren't answering my texts yesterday."
He smiled apologetically, "Sorry about that. My brother Tyde pushed me in the pool and I had my phone in my back pocket. He's payed for my new one right here." He held up his new, shiny black iPhone 6.
"Pretty."
~~~~~~
We managed to get through the morning and once lunch time arrived, I was exhausted like usual.
Troye bought me lunch when I told him that I wasn't going to eat today.
"It's like you're trying to fatten me up to eat me." I muttered as we sat down at our usual corner table. "Maybe I am." Troye said giving me a wicked grin and glancing up at me from under his lashes.
My stomach fluttered and I bit my lip.
His eyes flickered back down to his food and he clenched his jaw line. Whoops.
I took a bite of my food awkwardly. "So I found something interesting today."
Troye looked up.
"I was walking in the hall, well more like rushing, and I ran into a little freshman girl."
Troye's brows raised in surprise. "Yeah?"
"And while I was helping her pick up her papers, I saw this." I pulled out the neon Christmas party invitation and slid it to Troye.
As he looked at it, I kept talking. "It's an annual thing at this school and usually I don't go but I have you this year and I was wondering if you'd wanna go with me..."
His gaze darted up to meet mine and he smiled softly. "Of course."
Sorry again that it is short. Next chapter is better I promise.
