Standing outside the walls was a group of around three dozen Wolves. All of them looked heavily armed.

I looked at my dad. He wasn't moving. He looked like he was in shock.

These people weren't here to talk. That I knew. They wouldn't have had so many guns on them.

A man made his way to the front of the group. He smiled at my dad.

"Hi, Rick," he said. "I'm Tristan, leader of the Wolves."

"What are you doing here?" my dad asked, obvious frustration in his voice.

"We're here so you can tell me why you killed so many of our men last week." Tristan responded

"They tried to kill my son," he said. "And my family."

"We were trying to protect ourselves," Tristan said, putting his hands up. "Your son and his girl were going to put  their lives in danger."

"They were treating our deaths like a game," I said, finally speaking up. "They were going to watch the walkers tear us apart and laugh."

"Hey," Tristan said. "If you have to kill, might as well have fun with it." He turned back to my dad. "Now we're here to teach you a lesson." He took a gun out of his pocket.

I reached for my gun, too, but my dad put his hand out, stopping me.

Right after that, everyone in the group came running out. Maggie was leading them and she looked up at my dad.

"We've been watching what's been going on from the windows," she explained. She took her gun out of her holster. "We're ready to fight."

"No fighting," my dad said. He took a long pause before finally adding, "Yet."

He looked back out at Tristan. "We can make a deal," he said. "Right here...right now."

"We're done making deals," Tristan said. "The only thing we can do now is kill all of you."

He looked to my right. "Let's start with this fella right here."

He raised his gun and pulled the trigger.

I watched in horror as the bullet went through Gabriel's head, sending him down from the guard post to the ground.
