Fumbling with words,
My mind flashed to the days you use to say "I love you."
You did not mean it though,
For everything I expressed you'd show emotion that scared me,
Agreeing with you just so I would not cry,
It took will,
It took will to see your face and not break down,
You were perfection while I was nothing,
I was not yours, I was never yours,
No matter what you said,
No matter how many times you said "I love you, baby."
He meant more to you then I ever did,
To let you know I love you was a prize possession,
You no longer speak to me,
Your silence now is like a gun held to my head, never knowing when the trigger will click.
