I was watching TV when I heard my mom and dad fighting. I crept in the hall and listened.

"I can't believe you Chris! She is young!" My mom yelled.

"She is eighteen. She just graduated! She has the right to do that stuff."

They were fighting about my older sister Megan losing her virginity.

My mom slapped my dad. I got so mad I began to feel weird. I looked at my fingertips and saw firey red sparks.

My dad smacked my mom back and that's what set me off. I set the house on fire. My mom laid on the ground coughing and my dad laid dead.

I ran to my moms side. I held her hand in mine and began crying. "Mom. Mom I'm so sorry." I said.

"Don't worry sweetie." She said taking her necklace off. "Here. Take this. I got it when I was six just like you." She said taking her last breath.

"Mom!" I yelled crying.

That's how I ended up here. The orphanage in Haiti. Today is my adoption day. I get adopted by the Moore's.

"There here." My best friend Khloe said slightly happy and slightly upset and slightly mad.

"I'll miss you." I said hugging her.

"I'll miss you too." She said. "Promise you'll call everyday." She said crying.

"I promise!" I yelled while running downstairs.

When I got outside I saw the family. They introduced themselves but I wasn't listening. I was busy looking at Khloe up in her room window watch with sorrow eyes. She was crying.

Tears began streaming down my face. Or was it rain. I didn't know and I didn't care. We got in the car and drove away on a stormy Sunday night.
