Avia's POV:

I woke up, feeling like I wanted to throw up. I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet bowl. When I was done, I rinsed my mouth.
"Mommy! Daddy!" I yelled, unsure what to do next.
They burst into the bathroom. I pointed at the toilet bowl which was filled with throw up.
"Again?" Mom said worriedly.
"We're going to the doctor later after breakfast," Dad said.
I flushed the toilet bowl and nodded. I hated going to the clinic but I had to.
This has been going on for 2 weeks already. As usual, after vomiting, I went upstairs and slept on the recliner. Mom reclined the recliner, tucked me in and put a bucket, water and food beside me. She turned on The Good Dinosaur to entertain me as I drifted off to sleep.
Normal, healthy me would have watched the movie till the end. However, I was tired out and fell asleep 20 minutes into the movie.
I woke up again and threw up in the bucket. Mom heard me from in her bedroom and ran out with Dad.
Mom held my hair back and Dad rubbed my back. When I was done, I gulped down some water while Dad emptied the bucket in the bathroom.
I opened a packet of M&Ms and ate a handful to get rid of the vomit taste. Gavin walked towards me and held his nose.
"Ewww. You stink. Hey, not fair! Why does Avia get to eat candy at 3 in the morning and I can't!" Gavin said, glaring.
"Gavin, that's not nice. Why are you even awake?" Mom shouted.
"I woke up to the terrible smell," Gavin said.
"Avia can't help it. She threw up okay? She's sick! This has been going on for a while and you don't even care about your poor sister! Vomit tastes horrible so I allow her to have candy so that she can get rid of the vomit taste in her mouth! Go back to bed and watch your mouth, young man," Mom yelled.
He rolled his eyes and walked away. Tears spilled down my cheeks. Dad walked in and spotted them.
"Honey, what's wrong?" Dad asked.
"Gavin. He said she smelled horrible and it was unfair that Avia got to eat candy in the morning and not him," Mom explained.
"GAVIN BUTLER!" Dad yelled.
Gavin walked out lazily and sat down on the recliner, squashing me.
"Gavin! You're squashing me!" I shrieked.
"Does it look like I care?" Gavin smirked.
"Gavin Butler! Get off that recliner right this second!" Dad yelled.
Gavin slowly got up. Dad slapped his cheek.
"Give me your hands, you little devil!" Dad shouted.
Gavin held out his hands timidly. Dad prepared to slap them.
"Daddy! No! It's okay! My vomit does stink and if Gavin was sick and got to eat candy, I would be a little jealous too. Don't hurt him!" I wailed.
Tears streamed down his face. He sat down next to me amd hugged me.
"I'm sorry, Avs. I was jealous you got so much attention. It was stupid and mean of me. But you still defended me. Thank you! I'm really truly sorry!" Gavin sobbed.
"It's okay, Gavin. Everyone makes mistakes. As long as you don't say that again because it hurt my feelings," I smiled.
"Of course! Never will I say that again!" Gavin said
Dad hugged the both of us.
"Glad that's sorted out. Gavin, if this is repeated, the cane is coming out from the storeroom, alright? Okay, let's forget and forgive," Dad smiled.
"Okay!" I said.
"Sure. Hey Dad, can I have a few M&Ms please?" Gavin said hopefully.
We all burst out laughing.
"Avia, give him 4," Dad sighed.
I handed him 4 M&Ms and he shoved them in his mouth happily.
"Gavin, back to bed. You have water polo in the morning. Avia, try to sleep. We have to see the doctor after breakfast. Now," Mom said.
Gavin ran into his bedroom. I put the candy away and drifted off to sleep.

Colette's POV:

My alarm rang at 6. Shay and I woke up.
"Morning babe," I smiled.
"Morning my beautiful sunshine!" Shay smiled.
"Wake Gavin up. Uncle Casey will have to send him to water polo with Gage. The both of us, Avia, Emmi, Brock and Daxton are going to the doctor's. We'll wrap up in an hour or 2, I think. I'll bring the 4 kids to Manhatten Fish Market for lunch and you'll fetch Gavin from water polo and bring him to the restaurant," I said.
"Aye aye, captain!" Shay said.
We laughed and got out of the bed to start the day. I went to Daxton and Brock's bedroom.
"Wake up my Power Rangers!" I said in a sing-song voice.
Those 2 love Power Rangers.
"I'm the cool blue one!" Brock yelled, sitting up.
"No, wed better. I'm wed!" Daxton said in his adorable 2 year old voice.
"You mean red, Dax! R. Red," I laughed.
"Yeah, Daxton!" Brock said.
"Up and awake, Blue and Red Power Ranger! We're taking Avia to the clinic to see the doctor. She's been throwing up and getting headaches and pains in her leg," I said.
"Poor Aya!" Daxton sighed.
"Is she goung to be okay?" Brock asked worriedly.
"Of course. Our Princess is a strong warrior," I smiled, hoping I was right.
I had a bad feeling in my stomach but I shook it of. I walked out of their bedroom and whispered to myself.
"Avia will be fine. The headaches must be stress, she probably ate something she shouldn't and she must have hurt her legs during cheer. Everything is perfectly alright," I whispered.
I went to Emmi's bedroom.
"Wake up, my darling!" I said gently.
"What are we doing today?" Emmi asked as she slowly got up.
"We're taking Avia to the clinic to get checked up. She's been throwing up, getting headaches and pain in her legs. She'll be fine though," I smiled.
"Are you sure my sister will be okay?" Emmi asked, concerned.
"Um..." I started.
"Do you promise? I have a terrible feeling about this!" Emmi said, tears spilling out her eyes.
I sat next to her and put my arm around here.
"I can't promise anything, honey. I'm not God. We'll just see what's going to happen. But one thing is for sure. Avia will fight whatever sickness this is. From a mere fever to a deadly disease, she'll fight this. She's strong. Don't you worry, sweetie. Oh, how much you've matured. Thank you for caring for her. I'm so proud of my little Sugar Princess," I smiled, tears brimming in my eyes.
Emmi flung her arms around me and sobbed.
"Shhh. Stop crying, sweetie. It's all going to be okay," I said, dreading what was going to happen.
I had a strong feeling something terrible was about to happen.
"I'm sorry for being weak and being a baby. I'll try to be strong like Avia. I'm so sorry. I won't be a nuisance. I'll be strong and independant. I'll help take care of Brock and Daxton. I'll change my ways. I'll try my very best but I'll never be as perfect as Avia," Emmi started crying again.
"Hey, Emmi. Look at me. You're perfect just the way you are. Avia is also perfect in her own way. You're both equal and I love the both of you and the 3 others equally. So does Dad. You're already so strong and caring. Who helped clean up Brock's wound when he fell down? Who helped to hold Avia's hair back and massage her back when she threw up yesterday? Who was the one who saved Daxton when he nearly drowned in the pool last year? Who is my wonderful sunshine? You, you, you and you. And much more. You're already perfect just the way you are. Stay this way and also improve. Be a bit more loud and courageous. Help out more. You are not shy or weak or unhelpful. But there is room for improvement. Everyone has room for improvement," I told her.
My heart shattered into a million pieces. Did Emmi really think Avia was better than her? They were both equal and I loved the both of them to the moon and back.
"Thanks, Mommy. I love you," Emmi smiled.
"I love you too, baby," I smiled, leaving her bedroom.
I walked out. Avia was asleep on the recliner, curled up. I tapped her shoulder.
"Avia! Wake up, honey. It's time to go the clinic," I said gently, stroking her hair.
Her eyes fluttered open. She sat up and massaged her temple.
"Mommy! My head! It hurts!" Avia began sobbing.
"Shhh. It'll be okay. Stay right there. I'll grab a heating pad," I said.
I ran and grabbed a heating pad. I put it on her forehead while she squeezed her eyes shut. I slowly removed the heating pad and massaged her temple a little. I was so worried.
"I'm fine now, Mom. Honest. I'll just keep the heating pad close by me. Go prepare whatever you have to. Don't worry," Avia said, lifting my hand off her forehead,
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Of course, Mom," Avia assured me.
"My strong princess," I smiled, hugging her and leaving to make breakfast.
I made scrambled eggs, sausage, toast with Nutella and whipped up some hot chocolate for the cold sprimg morning.
Gavin arrived first. Next came Emmi. Then came Brock and Daxton, talking about the latest Power Ranger episode they watched yesterday.
Lastly, Avia arrived. Her face was pale and she looked exhausted.
"Avia! Are you okay?" Gavin said.
"Of course. Just a little tired from last night," Avia said
"I'm sorry about... you know... last night," Gavin said, looked embarrassed.
"What happened last night?" Emmi asked.
"We got into an argument when I woke up to throw up. It's all settled. No hard feelings," Avia smiled.
"Oh. Alright," Emmi shrugged, going back to her toast.
Avia sat down and took a Lego Superman, Spiderman and Batman out of her pockets. She showed the 3 Lego figurines to Brock and Daxton.
Brock grabbed the Spiderman and Daxton snatched the Superman, leaving Avia with the Batman.
"Alright, let's play!" Avia said.
The kids finished up. Daxton ran off to grab more Legos. Brock flung his arms around Avia.
"Thank you!" Brock said.
"For what?" Avia sounded confused.
"For playing with me and Daxton even though you're sick and tired. You could have been resting but you entertained us, making the both of us happy," Brock explained.
"Oh, Brock. Of course! I'd do anything for my siblings," Avia smiled, tearing up.
I smiled to myself. I loved moment likes this with my kids.
