Healing Blood

    For all of you saints and supporting citizens, there's an upcoming blood drive on Parish Lane, on the corner of 143rd Ave. Come donate a little of yourself and your time to those in need! Many face life-threatening ailments and stubborn diseases and could use your help! The drive will be in town all week from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. Your blood could save a life!

Article Three:
New York—Monday, June 20, 2022
    Miracles do exist. They happen all around us. Sophia Melborne, 13 years old had an untreatable liver disease since birth. Clinging onto life, she's been hospitalized more times than most people around her. One of the few treatments that hold back her debilitating illness are blood donations. The Presbyterian University Hospital staff have gotten to know young Sophia very well these last years.

Article Four:
New York—Tuesday, June 28, 2022
    Sophia Melborne. A name on everyone's lips this entire week. Healed miraculously of her liver disease. And now we know where it came from—to an extent. U.N. Special Scientific Division has determined that Sophia was cured by non-other than a blood transfusion. Although that may sound mundane, the implications are far from it. The blood given to young Sophia had properties that eliminated the disease. In other words, we have a donator somewhere out there with healing blood.
Samples taken from Sophia indicate trace amounts of DNA written differently from what we're used to.
    "It's unlike any organic natural mutation we've ever seen. The blood is perfect. It literally can heal anything. Cancer, STD'S, maybe even mental impairment. We don't know the full potential to this yet. This is staggering. It's unbelievable." —U.N. Scientist
    The information behind whomever has donated the blood is still undisclosed. Certain laws prevent personal identification being extracted about blood donators by third-parties. Yet, in this case, will there be an exception?

Article Five:
Atlanta—Thursday, June 30, 2022
    In what one can only describe as catastrophic, nineteen people have died in a mass pileup due to a mysterious car chase. It all began in the quiet neighborhood of Teacon at eleven-forty P.M. last night. Neighbors claim they heard yelling, gunfire, and cars peeling off into the dark.
    The home of Matthew Dolby had always been a quiet one. No problems, no trouble. The single, thirty-two-year-old man was not only a good neighbor, but one that kept to himself. Last night though, that all changed.
    Leaked surveillance footage from a nearby security camera installed on a neighbor's front porch showed us how it played out: Three white unmarked vans parked across the street from Dolby's home. Nearly a dozen men, suited in black clothing approached the house. Some went around into the backyard. One of the figures knocked on the front entrance and Matthew Dolby opened the door. There was an exchange of words that progressively grew more aggressive, resulting in Dolby slamming his door shut. The men pulled out firearms and broke into the home. The camera footage shows flashes of gunfire and suddenly the garage door is blown apart as a convertible breaks free and drives off. The unknown assailants run back to their vans and give chase to what we can only assume is Dolby.
    The pursuit led onto I-85 Southbound. Based on multiple traffic cams, we see Dolby losing his hunters in an incredible high-speed chase causing one of the vans to crash into a semi-truck, beginning the pileup that led to the nineteen deaths. Dolby's whereabouts are now unknown.
    As for the mysterious figures that broke into his house and followed him onto the interstate, we are not getting any information. Homeland security appeared on the scene before anyone else and prevented any news teams from taking a look.
    Speculation from domestic terrorism to drugs have been thrown around, yet nothing solid has stuck.

Article Six:
New York—Thursday, June 30, 2022
    The President has issued a statement unlike any we have heard before. In a public speech held in front of the Presbyterian University Hospital our president issued the following words:
    "Fellow Americans. Throughout history we have suffered fear and anguish from loss and pain brought about by disease and mortality. We are fallible. Built not to survive and endure all things. And that's alright. That's what it means to be mortal, to be human.
    "Now there's a change in the wind.
    "Sophia Melborne is completely cured of all her ailments. Liver, asthma, allergies. All because of a blood transfusion. The implications are tremendous. By obtaining the source, we can synthesize a 'Skeleton-Key' treatment as a cure-all. Of the samples we have, we have solid proof that our success can be achieved. But we need more blood. I now call out to Matthew Dolby, the donator of the blood. Wherever you may be, please, come out of hiding and turn yourself in. You are in no danger. Your cooperation can save this world. Can perfect it. You already donated once. Please, do so again."

Article Seven:
New York—Saturday, July 2, 2022
    The President's speech has shaken the world. Across America, citizens have turned vigilante to try and hunt down Matthew Dolby, who has yet to turn himself in. Dolby, who has shown incredible skill in both a gunfight and in hiding, has evaded both authorities and civilians alike. Having no military background, authorities are stunned as to how Dolby's success has kept him hidden.
    Mob bosses, the Italian Mafia, the Central American drug cartels, African war chieftains, and even Homeland have all placed a bounty upon Dolby's head. Ten million dollars to whomever can bring him in alive.
    Although the President's speech and the reward placed by a variety of organizations have inspired many to action, others are taking to the streets for personal reasons. Many have claimed that if they find Dolby, they'll keep him to themselves. "Close friends and families with sicknesses must be treated before we release him to the government." is a sentence spoken by many a mouth.

Article Eight:
Florida—Thursday, July 7, 2022
    Dolby has been spotted. Several civilians claimed to have seen Matthew Dolby running off into the Southern swamps of Florida in a mad dash to get away from his pursuer: Clait Darabond, a self-proclaimed bounty hunter who has been leading the chase against the man with the healing blood. Darabond was previously both a member of homeland and prior to that, a lieutenant in the American Army.
    Dolby had apparently snuck into a local lan-house to post this message online on his Facebook profile, a webpage now analyzed frequently by everyone and their mother:
    "I will not turn myself in. To do so would mean death. They would tear me apart. Bisect and trisect me into a million pieces. Stuff me into test tubes. Liquidate my insides. I would be a lab experiment. Although I know what I can do for others is impactful, my life and safety are just as important to me. I will not subject myself to torture and death for others."
    His message has changed the playing field yet again. Rewards on Dolby have doubled and tripled. It seems everyone is now out hunting one man, especially Clait Darabond.
    As to the government responding to Dolby's assumptions of death if he turned himself in, they have remained silent. Many speculate that Dolby is speaking the truth. Others say that regardless of what scientists do to him, Dolby should still give in.

Article Nine:
Florida—Monday, July 18, 2022
    Dolby was spotted again. Clait Darabond, still leading on the hunt against the man with the healing blood tracked down Dolby to his hideout. Located off the coast of Cape Romano is Marco Island, a small patch of sand with a few abandoned igloo-like dome homes. Built to be a self-sufficient complex by a long-dead oil producer and inventor, the houses have long been abandoned and left to rot. Matthew Dolby has been living in them. Darabond tracked Dolby to his home in which based on evidence of bullet casings, there was gunfight. Dolby was shot, but has been spotted getting away in a boat with no apparent injury. Seemingly, his blood seems to heal his injuries. Darabond was close in pursuit, with several hundreds of other wanna-be bounty hunters and vigilantes close behind. The Coast Guard and Navy, along with hundreds of other boats now seem to dominate much of the ocean space as everyone hunts for Matthew Dolby. As for the man with the healing blood and Clait Darabond himself, there is no trace.

Article Ten:
Louisiana—Monday, August 12, 2022
    Both Matthew Dolby and Clait Darabond have been spotted working together and evading capture along the Gulf Coast. It has yet to be determined why Clait has switched over to helping Dolby out.
The President has issued a statement marking Matthew Dolby as the most wanted man in the world. All across the globe people hold in their breath in anticipation of the day Dolby will be captured. So far, in a hunt that's lasted a month-and-a-half, Dolby seems to be on the winning side. But with everyone on Earth keeping their eyes out for him, it's only a matter of time before Dolby is spotted once more.

Article Eleven:
Texas—Wednesday, September 28, 2022
    Dolby and Darabond, infamous escaping duo, have been spotted crossing the border into Mexico near Brownsville, Texas along with a woman. Driving through the fence and ditch in an out-of-control semi, border patrol were unable to stop the trio as they tipped the vehicle over, destroying most of the checkpoint entrance. The two men and the unknown woman pulled dirt bikes out from the back of the truck and disappeared off into the desert. Both men were shot multiple times but not only was Dolby spotted miraculously healing from his wounds, but Darabont as well; determining that Darabond has been taking daily infusions of Dolby's blood as a precaution just in case he was to be injured. The pale woman accompanying them is yet to be identified. Drug cartels from all across Mexico are converging into the farmlands East of El Galaneño, a land that is infamous for its danger.

Article Twelve:
New York—Monday, March 20, 2023
    The President has issued a statement as follows:
    "We will be temporarily discontinuing the search for Matthew Dolby and Clait Darabond. The chaos that has ensued since June of last year has caused mass rioting, anarchy, and pandemonium in not only our country, but across the globe. The idea that there is a way to cure all of our problems has driven us to mania.
    "We have recently come to light that the woman from last year's border crossing was Clait Darabond's wife, a person who was bedridden with paraplegia until coming into contact with Dolby. It sheds light on Clait's motives for so doggedly hounding Dolby from the start. It had never been Clait's intentions to turn Dolby in and take the reward money. We can assume that Clait caught Dolby and offered him a deal. Protection and help crossing the border in exchange for a healing favor.
    "The Mexican government and the Drug cartels have been unsuccessful in catching the group and their whereabouts have been unknown for quite some time. There have been no sightings in many months and many guess that the three fugitives are no longer in the Americas.
    "As for now, we will resume our regular lives. That isn't to say we have given up. We will continue the hunt for Matthew Dolby, but in smaller, more controlled groups."

Somewhere deep within the Amazon Jungles of Brazil:
    The child opened his eyes, vision restored. He grinned his broad innocent grin and ran off to hug his parents, the first he had seen of them since the age of two when a poisonous frog had disabled his sight.
    Matthew Dolby grinned in happiness and turned to Clait Darabond.
    "Are the preparations ready?"
    Clait nodded with a steely determined look. His rugged features pointed to the Amazon River, which ran down across hundreds of miles, its water nourishing millions of lifeforms. Clait patted Matthew's shoulder.
    "Just wait until they find out how strong your blood really is. We poured all ten gallons into the water. That's a lot of blood Matt. Took us a long time to harvest that from you, but it'll be worth it. Glad all our testing came back with positive results. It will work, I think. How many people do you reckon will drink the water and be healed?"
    Matthew Dolby chuckled.
 "A lot. Hopefully a lot."
