The candy floss theory

~ Club room confessions ~ ReiGisa

Rei's eyes darted straight for Nagisa's chest, beads of water rolled down his carefully carved abs, to his perfect stomach and making there way to settle on the rim of his swimming shorts.

Rei knew it was wrong, looking at someone of the same gender as him in this way, feeling the way he did, but no matter how many times he calculated and theorised about the matter he could not change his sexual preference. He had felt this way for a while, since Nagisa had convinced to join the swim club actually, but had never know how to convey his feelings. If he confessed he'd scare him away or loose him as a friend in any case. Nagisa liked girls anyway, Rei was sure of it.

"Rei-chaaan" Nagisa called to the Blunette in front of him.

Rei was comfortably wrapped in a purple and blue butterfly print towel and was staring at him intently.

"Rei-chan?" Nagisa asked worriedly. "Y-yes!" Rei answered abruptly "Could you pass me my towel please I'm getting cold" He asked smiling. "Oh of cause" Rei said handing him a blue and yellow penguin towel from the chair beside him.

Practice had just finished and everyone was making their way out of the pool, apart from Haru of cause, who was floating along the surface of the water peacefully.

"Are you guys coming?" Makoto called to the two boys by the side of the pool.

They both jumped up quickly and followed after him into the changing rooms.

It was a simple calculation, no theory or hypothesis to it. Rei had made sure he knew exactly how long it took Nagisa in the locker room so he could avoid him at any given moment.

Nagisa always spent 5.3-5.6 minutes in the showers, then took another 2 minutes to dry off and proceeded to his locker, taking a mere 6 seconds when he was energetic about changing and 8 when was not.

And there he was, right on que, actually 0.14 seconds early but Rei could deal with that. This gave him a 3.04 second time slot to get the heck out of the showers and to his locker.

Now, the reasons behind Rei's calculations were rather silly. They were so, unfortunately for him, he did not have to see the rather eye pleasing parts of Nagisa and be caught in a blushing frenzy by the other swimming pool members. He knew if that happened the secret would be out, he liked Nagisa. No, more like loved him.

Rei quickly made his way to the lockers and pulled his clothes out. He now had 1.39 minutes to change.
Luckily for Rei this was quite easy, his days on the track were finally paying off.

He had even calculated the order of which clothes to put of first to make changing quicker.

T-shirt on, swimmers off. Socks on, jeans on. Shoes on and finally his red framed glasses pushed up onto the bridge of his nose.

With 2 seconds left to spare he grabbed his things from his locker and made a dash for the door only to be followed by some one shouting his name.

"Rei-chan wait! I'm not ready yet! Rei-chan!" A small honeycomb haired boy called.

Rei could hear him and boy did he feel bad for leaving Nagisa behind but he couldn't risk being caught.

"Bye Nagisa-ku-" He began to shout until he was tugged back harshly.

Turning around he met the gaze of his pink eyed friend, Nagisa.

"What's up with you lately Rei, you're always leaving with out me!" Nagisa seemed rather annoyed, his brow furrowed and his small hands tightened their grip on Rei's shirt.

He didn't know what to say, Rei had never calculated that Nagisa would come running after him like this. He just stood there, mouth moving but no proper words coming out.

"Wait... Is this because... Rei-chan do you not want I be friends with me any more?!" Nagisa shouted, his hand relaxed and a sad expression washes over his face.

Rei was shocked. Not want to be friends with him? Of cause he wanted to be friends, more than friends! Oh god, how much he wanted to be more than friends,

"No! You've got it all wrong of cause I want to be you friend!" Rei exclaimed, frantically searching for excuses.

"What is it then?!" Nagisa shouted tears welling up I the corner of his eyes. Tears... Rei had made his crush cry.

"Nagisa listen" The blunette started, adjusting his glasses. "What it is?!" Nagisa was almost screaming now, Rei never had thought he would have got this worked up about this. He needed to avoid him so he wouldn't get-

Of cause, Rei realised, he had only been thinking of what was best for him and not Nagisa. He was selfish, and let his selfish ways make the blonde boy in front of him cry.

"You're my best friend Rei! I don't want to loose you!"

Was he just shot down before he could even confess? Never the less he needed to make things right.

"I like you Nagisa-kun!" Rei suddenly exclaimed.

Now it was Nagisa's turn to be shocked. He had never thought this would be the reason for Rei avoiding him.

"I really like you... No, that's a lie. I-I love you, Nagisa-kun"

Rei was distraught, he couldn't believe he had just confessed and ruined everything, but Nagisa needed to know and except his feelings. Little did he know how elated the small breaststroke swimmer was.

"Rei-chan" The small blonde giggled. Here it was, Rei readied himself for rejection but all that came was a heavy weight on his chest nearly toppling him over.

"N-Nagisa-kun!" He exclaimed to the boy now clinging to him.

"I love you too, Rei-chan" Nagisa whispered into Rei's ear, then bursted out in to a fit of giggles. "We love eachother! We love eachother!" He sang happily.

Rei was in a state of shock. Had Nagisa seriously just excepted his confession and confessed back?!

A fully clothed Haruka was standing by the lockers looking at Rei and Nagisa, a slightly shocked expression on his face.

"Guess what Haru-chan, Me and Rei-chan love each other!" Nagisa shouted excitedly. A wild blush spread across Rei's face.

Haruka gave both boys a thumbs up and walked past them out of the door.

"Na-gi-sa-" Rei struggled as Nagisa hugged him tightly. He still couldn't believe it, Nagisa actually liked him back.

"Rei-chan! We love each other! Right?" He asked, a sudden flash trepidation across his beautiful face.

"Yeah we do. I love you so much my little penguin" Rei smiled happily
