"Alyssa! Hurry up Rosie's here!" My mom calls from downstairs. "I'm coming, don't get your knickers in a twist, old lady!" I can hear her laughing. I turn around and tilt my head to get a proportionate look at all the bags in my room. 'I couldn't carry all of this if I was the freakin Hulk' I think to myself. I look out the window and see Rosie's 1970's hippie van and Kai's black flatbed pickup in my driveway. Rosie sees me and makes her 'What is taking you so long?' face at which I laugh and make muscles with my arms. Next thing I know Kai, Jace, D.J., and Riley are all standing in my room from tallest to shortest, saluting me. "Boys, you have your work cut out for you," I say while pointing to the 4 months worth of stuff. Each boy grabs 2 bags and D.J. shouts "Whoever brings the least bags is all-time navigator!" In the end Jason had 4 bags, Kai had 5, Riley had 3 and D.J. had 2. I counted up and said "D.J., you lose, ha ha". "Shit" is all D.J. said. While I'm getting in Rosie's van Jace, D.J., and Riley all SCREAM "No you are riding with Kai!". "Okay" I respond wincing in pain from their volume."Kai apparently I'm riding with you" I say just to makes sure he knows what's up. "Ya, you are coming with me to ship the stuff then we are meeting them at Kay's house" " Okeldokeldokeldoooo" I say as I hop in the passenger seat of Kai's truck. I see my mom sticking her head out the front door so i stick my head out the window and at the same time we both shout "See you in four months, bitch". "Wow, you two sure have a loving relationship, don't 'cha" Kai says sarcastically. "Shut up" I say as I push him. Kai is like my big brother, I've known him since pre-K, we practically grew up together. Well, actually we did considering the fact he lives 2 houses down from me and we have carpooled to school since about forever. Our relationship has become so casual that people just assume we are dating which is pretty funny considering how much we argue. After about fifteen minutes of us arguing over radio stations, I win with 107.9 Froggy and I get to sing along to exactly one song before we pull into the USPS parking lot. We live in Seattle, Washington and we are spending all four months of summer break in Tylerton on Smith Island where my dad's best friend owns a beach house. We all wanted to fly except for Rosie, who insisted we take the 2405 mile drive in her van instead. So we decided to ship our stuff and hope to God that it gets there before us. As soon as we get everything boxed, labeled, and paid for, I open my mouth to ask if I can drive, but before I can even get a word out he says "No, do you think I'm crazy?!". "Well then I have nothing to say to you," I shot back, and we rode to Kaylee's house in silence.
