Sil sighed, being dragged along the factory halls. Why was she back here? To babysit. Niles had been called out on a business trip (or whatever) and the factories are in chaos. It wasn't a defined meeting, but as long as Niles was gone, the mood brightened a bit.
Every extra hand is needed, said one factory worker, calling several stars back on Earth. They informed them that Niles was not present and will not be in the building for several days and that it was safe to travel back and forth. So why not?
There was one particular part of the factory, where custom made stars are positioned. They have their own personality, own style, own body, but they are all still robots, and highly unpredictable.
And of course, Ender dragged Sil back into the factories.
Ender felt that it was stupid, why would stars help stars, and why was every extra hand needed? Workers are pretty trustworthy and can usually control a situation, but that was always with Niles.
They ended up reaching a room that wasn't nearly as bland as the others, it had an entirely different color than black, more of a light green, and there was several stars messing things up and ruining the place in general, with three factory workers running around and trying to keep everything in an orderly fashion. They are failing, horribly.
Sil had just barely stepped in the room and she was already put up with this mess.
So she just simply sat down, and waited to see just how well the Workers could calm things before she had to step in. Ender at this point was not even willing to try and fix this, so they just went off to assist somewhere else.
Sitting down in this room was like sitting down in a puppy pit, she was instantly overrun with Stars examining her, "Duuude, this a ghost, they are pretty rare. What are you doing here?"
"How do you get your hair like that, it's really pretty!"
Someone tugged at her jacket, "This is cute, where did you get this?"
Another simply walked around and examined her, "You look pretty expensive, what are you doing in this run down place?"
It took at least 5 minutes for each star in the room to notice her and say something, and another 20 minutes to have each and every star calm down. They had all fallen asleep, or rather 'recharging'. Either one works. Several were using Sil as a pillow, and the rest were using the other stars as pillows.
But here's the thing, whenever someone is sleeping on you, you don't want to move and you almost can't move.
One star was on her head, another was wrapped up in her scarf, and she was almost certain another had gotten lost in her hair.
Ender had walked in quite a bit of time after all the stars crashed, and just looked over the star pile and the ghost.
"Do you need any help...?"
Sil sighed, "A little bit, actually."
Ender nodded, and began to carefully move around the stars, so much as they wouldn't wake up, but so they still could be comfortable. Needless to say, them two were able to go home fairly soon.
