I got home from school and i went straight to my room. I didnt bother with eating and i didnt feel that full. I walked in my room and had the shock of my life. All my thing were packiped in boxes and my clothes in luggage bags.
"Mother, what are you doing" i screamed.
"My mother came up to me yanked my hair and pulled to her face.
"I finally did what i always wanted to, i am getting rid of you. He is coming today to fetch you and you will no longer be a burdan on me" my mother smirked.
I sank to the floor in a crumbled mess. I couldnt believe it. Questions were racing through my head.
Why did my mother mean? Who was he? Why was he fetching me?
I couldnt hold it back. I cried until i found what will save me from my misery. I went into the bathroom grabbed my razor and made my wudhu. I went back into my room. Layed out my prayer mat and sat their. I counted.
One. Two. Three.
I cut myself 9 times and just when i was about to end my misery the doorbell rang. I went to the top of the stairs nd listened carefully.
" we are so happy to have tayyiba as our new daughter" it was a woman speaking. I had recodised the voice but couldnt match the voice to the face.
"Ya, and i think my son is the most excited" i had a man speak. Most probably the womans husband.
"Why dont you go upstairs." My mother said.
"Sure aunty" who ever this was must be handsome. He had british accent and a velvety rich voice.
I ran to my room grabbed a towel and a bandage. I wrapped up my arm and pulled my abaya sleeve over it. I quickly wiped away the blood and i heard a knock on the door.
"Come in"
The moment i saw who it was my heart melted.
"Aadam" i said running up to him. I gave a hug while he spun me around.
"Whats happening" i asked.
He bent down to my ear and whispered.
"Im getting you out of here. How would you like to get married... To me."
