"Elizabeth!" My mother yelled from downstairs. I groaned as I laid in bed, pulling my lavender duvet over my head. The only thing illuminating my room was the little rays of sunshine peeking in through the grey curtains.
I sighed as I realized what today was. I stretched my arms and reached out my finger tips to grab my phone from my desk. "7:39am." I said to myself as I checked my phone screen. Rubbing my eyes, I quickly pulled the duvet off and got up from my bed. I glanced around for my slippers and saw them placed in the corner of my room. I put them on then walked towards my door and walked down the stairs.
The floor boards creaked with every step I took till I reached the bottom. The air was filled with the yummy smell of pancakes and bacon, my favorite! I zoomed into the kitchen where my dad was reading the daily paper and my mom was frying bacon. "Good morning Daddy." I said as I walked towards the empty chair next to him. "Good morning darling." He said as he planted a kiss on my forehead. I smiled then walked towards my mom and embraced her with a hug. My mom was quite small with dark brown hair like mine and light blue eyes. "Good morning honey." She said as she gave me a plate full of bacon and pancakes. My mouth watered and I quickly ate my breakfast.
"So hun, are you excited about today?" My mother asked cheerfully. I rolled my eyes at her enthusiasm and grabbed the milk carton from the fridge. "It's not that big of a deal mom." I replied as I poured some milk into a mug. "Honey of course it is! Our little girl is finally starting her new life in college!" My mom cheered as she spoke.
I couldn't help but smile at her adorableness *sigh*."Okay, okay enough embarrassment from me, go head on up and get dressed. Your father will help out with your bags to put in the trunk." My mom said as she shooed me out of the kitchen.Obeying her orders is a must in this house, she may be the tiniest but she's definitely the most vicious. A little ball of fury I thought to myself. I smirked at my own lame joke and hurried up the stairs.

I slipped on some blue ripped jeans and a red tank top with a grey cardigan. I glanced in the mirror admiring my reflection, posing slightly to examine my figure. I was pretty petite myself just like my mom. I have a slim waist and curvy hips which I will admit I love about myself just as much as I love my unique birthmark shaped like a cloud on my thigh.
My birthmark is the one unique feature about me aside from my intelligence and amazing grades in school. Everyone always compares me to my sister Anna. We have the same dark brown hair like our mom except our eyes are dark blue like our dad. Anna is 2 years older than me and has already left for college about a year ago. I sadly have to follow in her footsteps. My parents want me to be a doctor to follow the family tradition. My mom is a nurse, my dad is surgeon and soon enough my sister will be a pediatrician.I honestly really don't want to be a doctor. I've always aspired to become a ballerina or a dancer ever since I was young. I took many ballet classes and now I take dance class. My instructor says I have the potential but I know my parents would never allow me to persue a career of dancing.
I sighed once more as I continued walking upstairs. As I walked I noticed something odd dripping from the upstairs attic. "That's strange? I don't remember there being a leak." I said as I walked to the ladder attatched to the attic. As I grew closer the air smelled foul and I noticed the liquid wasn't water. Disgusted by the smell, I shielded my nose with the sleeves of my cardigan.
"Gross what the heck is this stuff?" I asked out loud as I examined the liquid. My thoughts were interrupted by my mom downstairs. "Hurry up dear your father is waiting for you in front!" She yelled. I glanced at the stairs then back at the attic ladder. I hesistated going downstairs but I had to go. I quickly ran into my room and grabbed my brown crossbody bag. I checked my hair one last time, which was up in a messy bun then speeded out towards the stairs. I looked back again to where the attic was and noticed the strange liquid was gone. The air smelled like lavender candles as usual. That's awfully strange I thought to myself as I walked downstairs.
I shrugged my shoulders then grabbed the house keys off of the brown coffee table in the living room. Knowing mom she probably cleaned it up or something I thought as I walked to the door. I took one last breath and closed my eyes. Goodbye home I thought to myself and opened the door. The cool October breeze blew strands from my bun towards my face. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and walked down the porch. "Finally!" Said my dad who was parked in front of the house. I smiled and opened the car door. "You know us girls dad." I chuckled as I sat down onto the leather seat, closing the door behind me. "Of course, of course." He said with a smirk.
He started the car engine and adjusted the car mirror. I turned on the radio and blasted songs by my favorite band Nirvana. "Now, lets get this show on the road!" Said my dad and we drove off.
