The Shadow Room

Chapter 3

~~~Dan's P.O.V~~~

I hummed to myself as i walked down the stairs to go into the basement. It didnt seem as bad as my parents said it would be but i have the strangest feeling that im being watched. I turned on my flashlight and scanned the room, it was big but not too big.

I walked around looking at the things that were packed down here. They seemed kind of important? Most of the stuff belonged to my grandparents and the rest was mine and my parents. I got lost in my thoughts until i spotted something shiny and red in the corner.

"What's that? Maybe i should check it out", i thought to myself. I walked over slowly stepping on something that made a squeaky noise. I looked down to see what it was and as soon as i got up the door slammed shut,jumping me and i was surrounded by the red shiny lights. I began to panic and tried the batteries to my flashlight but they didnt work at all. I fell to the floor unexpectedly, i looked at my feet to see what was dragging me and i saw blackness with only red shiny eyes staring at me. The noises they made were deafining and i cringed trying to get a grip of the wood and whatever was in my way.

The shadows soon vanished and left me alone. I got the oppurtunity to run up the stairs and bang on the door. I called out for help as loud as i possibly could but my legs were grabbed by a huge shadow. It's claws pierced into my delicate skin drawing blood, i hissed at the pain and cried out for help. I heard footsteps run clise by the door for i assumed it was May and screamed louder for help. I kicked and struggled to get out of its grip, it worked so i ran back up the stairs banging on the door loudly soon to hear May run and open the door. She was speaking to the police at the time. I was stabbed in my foot by the same shadow before it disappeared back into the darkness of the basement.

I fell foward almost passing out from the loss of blood,but May had caught me. She was crying and trying to comfort me to keep me awake. Sirens were heard and soon enough the police and the ambulance came and i was carried to the hospital.
