Chapter 1 - Scotland to Vacouver

My name is Kayla, I'm 15 and I live with my dad. Today is the day that I move from Scotland to Vancouver. I don't want to go but my dad said that I had to go because I had no one else here. let me tell you why

You see, I have a family in Vancouver, my real mum and my half brother Caden, Caden in 17, only 2 years older. I was born there but my mum and dad got into a big fight, so my dad practically forced me out the door and into Scotland. The reason I'm the only one with my dad is because Caden isn't my dads, so he only took me. I was only 6 years old when it happened, it's been 9 years now. I visited them once a year because my dad didn't have the money for the trips, so they trips ended 3 years ago, I miss them like mad. We still keep in contact even with the different time zones, which I'm grateful for. Oh one more thing, one thing that can change this world. Me and Caden, have powers, you know they ice powers, well them. We have them because of our mum, dad knows about it and kind of freaked out a bit. We can freeze people and also do freeze balls, It's very satisfying.

I can't wait to see them, right now me and my dad are on a plane heading to Vancouver, we are so excited, well I am, don't really know about him. I looked out the window and saw Canada, my home town, "you excited Kayla?, seeing your brother and mum for the first time in what, three years", "are you kidding me?, I'm over excited, I just can't wait"

*2 hours later*

I can't believe we are here, FINALLY, freedom of that stupid plane. It took forever and I mean forever, I think I fell asleep through most of it, I mean it's like 13 hours long, I think. Well it felt like that. We walked outside and saw what I wanted to see for over three years, my brother and mum. I did what I always did and ran to them, I ran to my brother first and just hugged him tight. I started crying on him and I think he started crying to, "I've missed you so much Caden", "I've missed you to Kayla", we pulled apart and just laughed at each other. I looked at my mum and saw tears in her eyes, I walked to her and hugged her tight just like Caden and she started crying to. I think everyone was crying, I mean even my dad started crying because of the emotional day.

Once we all hugged and everything we went to the house I haven't seen in three years, once the car stopped I ran out the car and up to the door and actually hugged the door, yes I'm weird. I heard Caden laugh coming towards me and then unlocking the door for me. I looked back and saw my mum and dad talking about something, my dad looked at me and then started walking away from the house, towards the train station, "dad?, dad, DAD" I said walking towards him. When I got to my mum, she grabbed me and held me back, "DAAAAD, come back, please" I said whispering please at the end. I didn't realise I was crying until Caden came to me and tried to hug me, I just pushed them all away and ran to my room, I still remembered it from three years ago. I slammed my door shut and slid down it pulling my knees to my chest and crying on them. my dad just left me, how could he, after everything we went through, he just looked at me and left. The only thing I want to know is, why?
