After the meeting was over, everyone filed out of the room, wishing Harry a Merry Christmas on their way out, as it was the last meeting before Christmas holiday. I was going to the Grimmauld Place, so I could spend it with my family and friends. I'm pretty sure Harry was as well. Speaking of Harry, and Christmas, I had a present for him already. Since he was the Seeker on the Quidditch Team, I got him a small Golden Snitch, that read the words,
"If you'll be my Seeker, I'll be your Golden Snitch."
Yeah, I know it's cheesy. But, it's actually sort of shocking of how happy things like that make him. Anyway, Harry remained in place, as everyone left, and so did Cho. She was only staring at herself in the mirror, fixing her hair. "Coming, Harry?" I asked him, grabbing his hand. "I'll catch up with you. I just need some time to think." He replied, smiling softly. "Alright, well I'll be in the common room." I kissed his cheek, and headed towards the doors.
Actually, I wasn't going anywhere until I knew Miss Chang wasn't going to try pulling any stunts. I only partially closed the door, leaving a little crack where I could peek in. For a moment, Harry only paced, with a thoughtful look on his face. Cho stood there, waiting for him to notice her. After a second, he looked over at her, and smiled a little. "Aren't you going to go back to your common room? It's getting a bit late."
I sighed boredly, as she began whining about Cedric. Then, she threw herself into his arms, crying like a big baby. Oh, how I wish to laugh at her stupidity right now. Harry only patted her back a bit, and tried comforting her. Suddenly, she lifted her head, and looked up at him. I felt a surge of anger run through me as she leaned in to kiss him.
"Cho, look, I'm really sorry, but I'm in love with Riley." He said, gently pushing her back. "I could never cheat on her. I'm sorry that you lost Cedric, but you're going to need to find someone else to fall back on. Riley needs me, and frankly, I need her as well. I have no problem with being your friend, but that's all I can do." She sighed, and moved a bit closer to him. "What Riley doesn't know won't hurt her."
I scoffed, and rolled my eyes at her. What a little snob! "I already told you, I won't do it. I'm sorry, I need to go." I raced down around a corner, and down a few staircases, before stopping on one of them, and sitting down. Hopefully, I could pull it off as an 'I was just thinking' kind of thing. When I heard footsteps coming up behind me, I put a look of deep thought on my face.
"Riley, what are you doing up here? I thought you were going back to the common room." Harry's voice inquired, as he sat beside me. "I was just thinking for a moment," I replied, and looked at him. "I heard what happened with her back there." He frowned. "Her?" Oh, come on, don't play dumb! "You know!" He shook his head. "No, I really don't." I groaned, and face palmed. "Cho, of course!" He smirked. "Who's Cho?"
I grinned, as he pressed his lips onto mine. After that, we got up, and headed back to the common room for bed.
--------------------------------------------------
I woke up in the middle of the night, for some strange reason. It was about two in the morning, and all the other girls in my dorm were asleep. Sighing, I got up, and headed down to the common room. When I sat down in my favorite armchair, I began to hear a bunch of commotion. It sounded like the boys were up fooling around, or something. But, after a few minutes, people came rushing down the stairs. Frowning, I turned my head, only to see Ron and Professor Mcgonagall, holding onto each of Harry's arms, guiding him towards the Portrait Hole. His shirt was drenched in sweat, and his face was as pale as a ghost's.
"What's going on?" I asked, running up beside Ron. "You should probably stay with us, just in case." He answered. I nodded, and followed them through the corridors in my bare feet. I wonder where we could possibly be going at this time in the morning. Probably to Professor Dumbledore, or some other teacher I would assume.
Soon enough, we were standing in front of the gargoyle that guarded the door to the Headmaster's office. "Sherbert Lemon." Mcgonagall recited. Sure enough, the staircase appeared, and we all made our way up it. Professor Dumbledore was waiting for us there, and so was Fred, George, and Ginny. I made my way over to them, and asked what happened. "Harry had a nightmare about our dad." George explained. "He apparently got attacked by a snake."
I looked over at him, as Dumbledore asked him a few questions, not even bothering to face him. The Weasleys looked utterly horrified, as was I. Hopefully Arthur was okay; he was a good person. I could tell Harry was getting irritated by the fact that Dumbledore practically refused to look at him. I would've as well, to be honest. Finally, he snapped. "LOOK AT ME!"
We all jumped, shocked by his sudden outburst. This finally made the Headmaster turn, and look into his eyes. "What's happening to me?" He asked quietly. He got no response, but instead, he was whisked away by Snape, who was told to take him down to the dungeons. The rest of us were sent back to our dorms.
I love Hogwarts, I really do. But, this place is nothing but drama, drama, drama.
