"Antheia, there is an Alpha by the name Xavier here to see you." Beta Theo told the Alpha

"Of course, bring him to me right away Theo." Her angelic voice matched her soft smile.

"Alpha Antheia, thank you for seeing me without notice." The man said to her.

Her smile brought the man what little comfort he could find. "What is the matter? You seem awfully agitated."

The man sighed, glad that the Alpha was so welcoming.

"You see Alpha, we are only a small pack, and we have little protection against threats. Not that we have ever needed it before now. However we have been terrorised by rogues, and I beg of you, we need your protection." His voice seemed less wearing and straight up frantic now.

"Of course Xavier. Your pack will join mine for the time being until we can stop those rogues."

*Antheia's POV*

"What do you mean he refuses to leave?" I asked, demand almost slipping into my tone.

"I'm sorry Alpha, I don't understand either. He says he refuses to leave his mother. She was absolutely horrified at the thought of leaving the house where her late husband is buried." Xavier replied.

I sighed. I could understand why she was reluctant to leave but I was more concerned about her safety than her sentimental values at the moment. "I will go visit them myself then Xav, don't you worry about it. Just focus on getting your pack settled in here and let me know if anyone gives you any trouble."

"Thank you Thea, I appreciate this so much."

I knocked carefully on the small door of the faded weatherboard house, afraid that if I knocked to hard the house would collapse in on itself.

A small women with mousy hair answered shyly.

"Oh Alpha Antheia." Was all she said.

I smiled warmly at her. She reminded me of my own mother; only a lot more fragile and soft spoken.

"Please Mrs Austin, call me Thea."

She smiled softly. "What can I help you with Thea?"

"I understand that you don't want to leave your house but I insist on keeping you safe so please come stay with my pack. You can return back to your home as soon as the threat is eliminated." I pleaded.

She sighed. "Oh alright. I can't say no to such a kind soul. I must wait for my son to return though, he went to collect berries for me. They're my favourite."

I laugh at her distraction. "Of course. I will wait with you if you don't mind. I will drive you back to the pack house and ensure you arrive safely."

Her smile grew into a sincere grin. "Oh lovely! Come in and have some tea while we wait, he shouldn't be too long."

I sat down at their dining table as Mrs Austin put the kettle on the stove.

I began to feel uneasy. What if the rogues had gotten him?

Suddenly I heard the front door open and the scent of the woods and something sweet flooded my senses. My wolf began howling with joy and chanting 'mate' over and over again.

The omega stepped into the room and kissed his mum on the cheek before his head turned quickly to me.

His eyes widened and he quickly bowed his head. "Alpha Antheia!" He yelped. I couldn't help but shiver when he said my name. "To what do we owe this pleasure?"
