Bubble Woman Coach

  (A/N) Yes, I'm smushing the SU titles together to form a chapter title. Sooo creative.

Bubble Buddies

  The gems ran to the source of the odd noises. They saw a giant mob of clouds go up into the air, engulfing Steven and Connie. They finally caught up.

  "STEVEN!" Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst cried.

"Steven, what's going on? What did you do?" Pearl spoke first. Steven and Connie turned around and faced us. For a second, Steven's face practically said "Ohhh noo."  but Connie piped up.

  "He was incredible!" she said. Steven turned to her.

  "Really? You mean it?" Connie nodded her head. 

  Garnet bounded over to the gem as it bounced on the sand. It came to a stop and she bubbled it.

  "Here's your bracelet." Steven held the bracelet up. 

  "Again!" He added. 

  "Thanks!" Connie giggled. Amethyst and Pearl walked up the the pair. Amethyst put a hand on Steven's shoulder, startling him. 

  "Sooo! Are you going to introduce us?" she asked, Steven blushing.

  "Steven was so excited to meet you, right Steven?" Pearl added. Steven tried to find words to agree but all that came out was a jumbled-up sentence. He nodded his head and laughed. 

  "Hey." Garnet picked up Pearl and Amethyst. 

  "Don't mess with his funky flow." 

  Once Steven had walked Connie back home, he walked back to his own home. 

  "Yo, Steven! Want some pizza?" Amethyst said once he had entered. 

  "Sure! Pizza sounds delicious right now..." he stated as his stomach let out a growl. The four of them laughed and sat down. Steven opened up the pizza box and took out a piece, cheese slowly melting off the sides onto his napkin. He began telling the gems about his adventure with Connie. 

  As Steven described the way he produced his bubble to protect Connie from the falling rock, Pearl recalled the time during the war when Rose had protected her in the same way. 

  Homeworld gems had blasted rocks at them and Rose had grabbed Pearl, held her close and summoned a bubble around them.

  This brought tears to her eyes but she quickly looked away and wiped them off her cheeks before anyone could see. She also remembered a time before the war where she had shielded someone, but she couldn't remember who. 

  Huh, that's weird. I normally remember everything. I'm a Pearl!  She thought. She decided to worry about it later and continued listening to Steven. 

Giant Woman

  "All I wanna do, is see you turn into, a giant woman." 

  Steven finished his song and the goat topped it off with a short "Bahaahahh!" 

  Later on, after Steven found out that he could fuse, Pearl sat on her watery floor and thought back to when she had first fused. 

  It had been an accident and the fusion had only lasted a second before unfusing. She and another gem had never fused again since then. Who was the other gem? It hadn't been Garnet or Amethyst, and certainly not Rose... she thought back to her life before Earth. Chills were sent down her spine. She didn't want to think about her past. 

  I'm in a better place now.

Coach Steven

  "What, you wanna fight?!" Sugilite demanded.

  "You'll thank me later - AHH!" Pearl launched herself into the air but Sugilite easily swatted her away like she was an annoying insect. Pearl was sent down into the sand. Pearl shakily got up and went at Sugilite again, knocking off her shades and revealing Sugilite's other four eyes. She angrily looked at Pearl.

  "You think you're something?" She asked Pearl. 

  "You!" Sugilite headbutted Pearl, sending her towards the sand again. She managed to land on her feet. 

  "Ain't!" Sugilite smacked her straight up into the air. 

  "Nothing!" Pearl was hit by a two-handed overhead strike and she hit the ground but quickly got up on one knee. Sugilite swung her flail at Pearl but she jumped away just in time, landing on her face. Greg and Steven were knocked back. Hearing Steven yell as him and his father were blown away made her stand right back up. 

  "Steven!" (I like how she didn't even care about Greg here lol. Poor Greg ;-;) She didn't have the strength to stand up and went back down one one knee. Tears started to emerge from her eyes. 

  "I'm sorry Steven... Garnet... Amethyst... I wasn't strong enough... to protect you..." Who am I kidding.

  "I'm not strong enough to do anything." 

  "C'mon Pearl, don't give up!" Steven called into his bullhorn. He didn't want to see Pearl like this, she was so strong and talented! She was strong in the real way! 

  "I know you can take her down!" he said next.

  "I can't..." Pearl said in a soft, sad voice. 

  "YES YOU CAN!!" Pearl had heard this before. 

  "C'mon, you always know what to do!" She'd heard that before as well. 

  "You've gotta show her what you showed me - " Who had told her these exact words before?

  "- that you're strong, Pearl," This was so familiar... 

  "STRONG IN THE REAL WAY!" Pearl shook her head and was filled with motivation. She'd worry about the familiar words later. Right now, she had to stop Sugilite.
