JAMES POV

"What's your next class?" Erik asks me as we walk down the hallway.

"Uhmm," I said as I try to find my class schedule inside my folder. "Calculus."

"Goodluck with that, man!" he tells me, smiling. "Well this is my stop," he said as we reach a classroom. "See you around man!" He taps my shoulder twice before he enters his classroom.

I smile as he leaves but realizes that I have no idea where my next class is. Oh crap. I continue walking as I look at each classroom number.

From my peripheral vision, I see someone walking behind me, from my right.. Maybe I should ask her..

"Hi do you know where room B17 is?" I ask as I turn towards her. I didn't get to see the face yet cause I was looking at my schedule, but as I lift my head to see who it is, I freeze a bit. It's April. She lifts an eyebrow.

"Oh sorry," I unconsciously say but before I start walking again, she speaks.

"Wait!" I turn around again towards her. "You're a new kid?" She asks.

"Yeah," I answer.

"Well you're lucky I'm the person you asked," she says, showing her white perfect teeth. "That's my next class too."

"Really?"

She nods. "Yeah. So uhm what brings you here new guy?" She asks as we start walking forward.

"Well," I hesitate a little. "My parents divorced and so my mom and I moved here," I explain.

"Ahhh," she says as she nods her head slowly. "Well, enjoy the rest of the school year bro."

"Uhm thanks..?" I say a bit confusingly. Did that one of a kind rich girl just call me bro?

"We're here," she smiles as we reach the classroom at the end of the hallway. We both enter the classroom and not that many students have arrived yet. April walks straight into her chair, leaving me standing, thinking of where to go. How do I know which of these seats are taken?

"You can sit here," April says as she taps on the chair beside her.

"Doesn't anyone sit there?" I ask. I bet someone sits there since it's in the first row..!

"Nahh," she says, slightly shaking her head. "It's a free country?" she says, slightly lifting her shoulders with a closed smile on her face.

I shrug my shoulders. Okay, just for today. I approach the table next to her and settle down my book on the table, reaching for a pen inside my pocket. As soon as I set them on my table, someone comes up towards me. I raise my head.

"I'm sorry but this is my table," a shy looking girl says as she looks down.

"Sit on another table," April says as she gives a sarcastic smile.

The girl quickly nods but before she heads to the back, I speak. "Wait! No, you can sit here. I'm sorry," I said, standing up.

"No, no" the girl says, waving her hands. "No need," she says before finally heading to another empty seat.

I sit down again and face towards April who had an eyebrow raised up. "Seriously?" She says.

"What? This was really her seat anyway," I explain to her. "I'm the one intruding."

April snorts. "That's a chair, not a house." Before I can respond, the teacher enters the room.

"Turn to page 87 of your books. Now," he strictly says as he sets his things on his table.
