The hopeless romantic

I was still embarrassed obviously- who wouldn't be? My crush had just humiliated me in front of everyone.

"So, the parts of the kidney are what Sasha? Name me one." Questioned Mrs Harper.

"Erm...the renal artery?" Replied Sasha.

"Correct! Now someone else...someone else" Mrs Harper searched around the room like an eagle, the quiet kids hunched down and the smart kids were virtually falling off their seats.

"David-go on, surely you can answer another part of the kidney?" Asked Mrs Harper.

David looked shocked almost that our teacher would even think to choose him. He swallowed his nerves and began to answer.

"Uhm...erm...help me out whatever your name is..." David whispered to me.

"Learn my name first!" I hissed back

"Fine! Park? Yeah, Park just do me this one favour-I can't afford to be embarresed." Replied David, with his adorable puppy-eyes look.

"The medulla..." I replied.

"The medulla?" Said David aloud to the class.

"Well done-it took you some time but we got there at least. Moving on."

As soon as Mrs Harper began talking again, David turned around and gave me a smile...it was sweet-he looked so cute it was unbearable.

"Thanks man-your alright." David whispered.

The rest of my first to periods was a blur-all I can remember is thinking about David...he talked to me-and smiled! I still knew I hadn't got a chance with him but I had hope.

Break came around and I was overly excited to talk to Temmie and Jamie. As soon as I saw them in the cantine I dashed over-"GUYS! GUYSSSS! GUYS! GUESS WHAT!" I squealed with excitement.

"What now?" Laughed Jamie.

"I've got a crush! A CRUSH!" I replied, grinning from ear to ear.

Jamie and Temmie looked at each other with concern.

"Well...who is it?" Asked Temmie.

"It's...It's David!" I answered.

"David Mobey?! Are you kidding me?! He's such a douche Park seriously you can't like him!" Whispered Jamie-obviously trying to stay quiet about it.

I knew. I knew I had that look of hurt on my face-mixed with anger.

"Why the hell not?! Have you SEEN him?! He's the cutest guy I've ever seen! Almost like a model!" I hissed back.

"Because his girlfriend is Rachel-Rachel Attlen-the most popular girl in the school! Do you even know what she would do if she found out you liked him?!" Said Temmie.

"Look guys I know your 'looking out for me' or whatever but I thought you were going to help me...support me at least. But I guess I haven't really got a shot with him anyway...he probably doesn't even like guys." I replied. Inside I was being crushed by the fact that David would never like me-and if he ever found out he would probably just get scared of me or something.

This was hopeless.
