My wild silver hair flew in the summer breeze. I turn around and lock my door before putting on my sunglasses. That is probably the most important thing I will do today. For, if I don't, I risk killing thousands of people at once. My feet patter down the driveway and towards the busy street that lay ahead. I looked at the ground as I hurried around the surrounding pedestrians, trying my very best not to bump into them.
I sit in the old bus stop, awaiting the bus that will drop me at school. I was fifteen and school took up most of my time. When I wasn't at school, I was on my laptop or reading fantasy stories. I loved reading stories of brave heroes that have powers that, unlike mine, can be used for good. Though there was one story that stood out to me. It was a beautiful story that told the tale of a monster that longed to be with her family forever, so she asked a snake to grant her wish. But, instead of a happy, free world, he created a living hell. The monster had a single child.Who grew old, and was to have a child of her own, named Marry. Little Marry's mother was killed by bandits and Marry was doomed to spend her life in a castle. The old yellow bus rolled up over the hill, and I stood up, ready to greet it.
I sat in my usual seat, right at the front of the bus. No one ever sat next to me, for they all knew my tale. "Akira Tomodachi, the girl with the eyes that could us all," is what they would say behind my back. I leaned against the window and gazed outside. Everyone looked so free, not a care in the world.
"Is it OK if I sit next to you?," a small, male voice chirped.
I twist around to see an attractive boy, around my age. His brown hair fell over onto his matching brown eyes, causing him to brush it away with his hand.
"R-Really? Me?," I stuttered.
"I'm just like you. My name is Hibiya Amamiya. Nice to meet you, Akira," He smirked, holding out his hand.
I blushed as I held my hand out to him. He smiled and me and sat down. He placed his bag on the ground in front of him and slapped his hands off of his legs.
"So, Akira, were you involved in a near death experience?," He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Y-Yes.....Why?,"
"What happened exactly?"
"Well, um, we were on the train, 12:30 on August 15th. It was my birthday, so the driver let me, and just me, into the drivers area. My parents were told to wait outside....and.....,"
"I take it was a very traumatizing event, yes?" He said, in a calm tone.
"Yes, but what does it have to do with anything?"
"You are like me, Akira. Different, special, unique. You are feared by everyone on this bus. Exempt me."
"Y-You...Kill people with your eyes too?"
"No. But my eyes are like yours in the sense that the are unusual. I can see things that other people can't. Through walls and miles away."
Hibiya had just finished speaking by the time we reached the school gate. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me off the bus and onto the path. He continued running, past the school and down the road.
"I hope you didn't expect a normal day, Akira!"
