"wave your hand without holding on, re-bye."Yerim hadn't been prepared that month in hadn't seen it coming.
Everything had seemed okay. Everything had seemed normal for once.Yerim had been silly, falling into a routine of greeting every member before she left for school.
She always went to Sooyoung last, for obvious reasons. But this time she wished she hadn't.
Sooyoung wasn't there. Her secret love was no where to be found.
"It's hard to see these feelings of attachment."
Yerim had been silly. She'd gotten used to them all.
Maybe it wasn't obvious to the public, but Yerim has became happier
and brighter within her first year as red velvet's new maknae. She had been happy, so happy; until she started reading comments.
She got obsessed with reading them, trying to 'fix' herself. It was a constant replay.
"I'm used to it. All the looks that come and go,
all the girls around me who think I'm unkind, but that's ok."After months of being what they wanted Yerim decided to be what she wanted. She didn't force happy faces at concerts or practice expressions in the mirror. She let everything come naturally.
During that time she became closest with Sooyoung, her tall unnie who was kind of an asshole at times.
They shared a room for the first six months until Yerim got her own.
Sooyoung was kind and surprisingly sensitive at times, and it all made Yerim confused."I may seem inexperienced but I have nothing to be ashamed of,"
One night under the secluded cherry blossoms
they kissed, they kissed , they kissed , they kissed.Sooyoung cried after, she pulled out a little flask from her bag
and drank some of whatever the clear liquid was.She handed it to Yerim and people, used it was their little secret.
Their relationship was supposed to be their little secret too.
"If your true feelings get revealed, it's game over."
Sooyoung had dissapeared. Yerim had never see, her at the dorms again.cshe never came back to collect her things or say goodbye. Her number went out of service, which devastated Yerim who had been calling every night at 11:11; just hoping for a goodbye.
"If I'm only going to end up with disadvantages in my hands,
I'd rather have a short and simple goodbye."Yerim cries and cries into Sooyoung's pillows, inhaling the smell that once was so familiar. She remembers Saturday mornings nuzzled against Sooyoung's chest and how Sooyoung would always pick her up from school, no matter what the weather.
They'd go home with their umbrella and it always made the day easier for Yerim.
